chani829a Unban appeal

IGN : chani829a

Ban Reason : Assisting Ban evasion

Ban date : 2025/01/03 ( 3month ago )

I was Banned for Assisting ban evasion because i was a voucher of 2lu, everyone knows as hacker. Let me explain the whole timeline. First, 2lu is turkish so he needed voucher to play loka. He asked help to Xpera, Xpera asked to aquaxol who is my friend if he knew any diapot player, and he said yes. He knew two diapot main friends, zqqe and me so he made a groupchat to help them. 2lu asked me to vouch him and i accepted it because i didn't think nothing would happen and it was safe. but he was hacker, so i was banned together with 2lu.

I didn't know about 'vouch' properly at that time because Loka staff explained what vouch is but it was hard to understand for me. although i didn’t know vouch correctly I vouched 2lu because of my thought that nothing would happen, and the result of trusting people easily was ban. this is the consequences of my immaturity. I will do my best not to make happening like this again. Also, i haven't break any rules in my 1.5years loka life.

Thank you for reading my deficient appeal to the end.

On a sidenote, while I agree that with Loka being such a unique server comes the very real risk of mass alting, I believe the current alt-banning system is way too harsh, and overly punishes players for trusting others, when trust is literally the basis on which vouches work. As it stands, anyone could theoretically get banned through assisting ban evasion if someone is dedicated enough to get people to believe they aren't an alt...
I do agree that Chani is a nice guy, and as far as I know, he has never broken any rules. but you can't just vouch for someone because your friend tells you to do it. You need to think for yourself when vouching for someone and not blindly trust your 'friends.' He also knew he was risking being banned if he vouched for this guy due to Partayarc had already toldhim about the punishment, so that's not an excuse.

Loka's alt banning system is just fine. Helping someone ban evade deserves the same punishment as the ban evaders, as the elders have said in the past. Just because he 'accidentally' vouched for someone doesn't change that. You shouldn't trust someone you don't know at all.

And to all of you who reacted with a nerd emoji, you know I'm right about this. You're only reacting because you're protecting your friend who helped a ban evader. Stay mad gang 🤣

After reading, I do think that the appeal is probably genuine. It is your own fault for trusting someone blindly but it was someone you called a friend so I think it’s both your fault. That being said due to this I think it should be a temporary ban, thus +1

Chani is genuinely a good guy and follows by the rules and I understand that theres a language barrier but I still think this is to soon but it should atleast be a 12 week temp but be careful next time you can ask me if you need help on something

It is true that there is no « accidental » vouching, and I don’t remember anyone saying the contrary. He made the decision to vouch for the alter, and suffered the consequences of being tricked. But my point was that I can clearly understand why he took that decision. Nothing bad happened to him over his time on the server afaik (bad as in getting scammed, getting betrayed, etc), so he had no reason to not trust the community.
So looking at it again, his trust in the community + the language barrier + the fact that a friend of his brought this up (so familiarity) was a recipe for disaster. I believe the possibility of 2lu being an alt just didn't even cross his mind... He has obviously learnt his lesson now. To prevent cases like these from happening (and it seems like they do happen more than most of us think), I suggested slightly changing the rules here (might make a whole post for it tbh): https://forums.lokamc.com/threads/vouch-system.9888/post-125498

+1, genuine mistake as a recruiter I sometimes doubt my own recruits too when it comes to vouching for them but I always double check just incase 👍👍

+0, staff will simply have to make the determination of: is it reasonable to not understand the terms of vouches across language barriers? it’s so ambiguous based on the evidence provided in this thread to me.

I can’t tell if bro genuinely misunderstood and had no idea that if he vouched for somebody who was an alt or cheater that he’d go down with them too.. or if he’s just pulling the language barrier card in a bid to get unbanned quicker.

Either is equally likely in my mind, and I have shit info because I’m not active anymore, but nothing else should be considered in this case except how reasonable it could be for somebody to misinterpret the vouch rules BY THAT MUCH.
