I'll bite.

EDIT: Are we preparing poems beforehand and reciting them for the contest? Or will you give a topic at the time of the contest, which we'll have a certain amount of time to prepare a poem for? When you say "freeform composition", does that mean we aren't allowed to use any particular structure, or that we just aren't required to adhere to one? Are we reciting poems in chat or just submitting them in the form of books? Who's judging?

I'd make a complaint about timezones like mine, but I don't think it would change anything

What is team slam?

Team Slam: Two or more team members rally and take turns in succession with meaningful impromptu poetry, about and surrounding a given topic, until the allotted time passes. The transcript of the whole piece will be saved in a book. Judges will deliberate the winner based on form, cohesion, and teamwork.

Are we preparing poems beforehand and reciting them for the contest?
Prepared works beforehand wont be accepted.

Or will you give a topic at the time of the contest, which we'll have a certain amount of time to prepare a poem for?
Topics will be pulled from a proverbial hat. Players will have to deliver a book with their work in it before the timer is up.

When you say "freeform composition", does that mean we aren't allowed to use any particular structure, or that we just aren't required to adhere to one?
Freeform Composition is free of any particular structure and not subject to the rigors of having any particular rhyme or rhythm. The work will be judged on it's creative, artistic, and linguistic merit.

Are we reciting poems in chat or just submitting them in the form of books? Who's judging?
Team Slam is the only competition that must be recited in chat, this will take place in the roleplaying channel. A list of judges will be released soon.

Come on now Def that's poor writing
With you I'd expect far more fighting.
Not that I am much better
Though quite the trend setter
And nice to see you all find words inviting.

One two
Tie my shoe
Three four
Something about a door
Five six
Pick up sticks
Seven eight
Lay them straight
Nine ten
HAHAHA NINE AND TEN
