Constantine Ban Appeal.

Yes but you don't have to act like some dystopian society. "Any and all people who have known or have participated in any acts deemed illegal by the party will be executed on sight. This is for your own safety, I repeat, this is for your own safety. May Cryptite save Loka. Amen."
POV: You just finished 1984 for your 9th grade required reading and are just dying to apply it in your life

+1 i think his ban should atleast be made a temp ban since at the end of the day he did not participate in any of the duping, though i dont think staff are "totalitarian" for enforcing server rules xd

I just watched an episode of the Law & Order about morality and legality, so I feel entitled to give my 2 cents (im an idiot), constantine did the legally speaking "wrong" thing by not reporting the dupe as he was afraid it would harm his 2 year old friendship, but morally speaking, would it have been the morally right thing to do to snitch on your friends just cause you wanna play loka minecraft? (loka no lifes aren't allowed to answer this question), in my opinion constantine should definitely have gotten a perm ban in any other situation, but since I think this is a more fragile case which moral and ethic is put into the equation, I would say constantine deserves a temporary ban.

Maybe because people aren't willing to risk a 2 year friendship for a Minecraft server with totalitarian staff?? Although I don't blame you for what you said considering you probably never had friends anyway
yeah i mean i can’t imagine cheating in minecraft to begin with… let alone being friends with someone that would end our friendship over a minecraft server. you can keep overcompensating on minecraft forum pages tho 😬

i hated getting the uhc kids and tedzi banned due to their dupe. I lost friends because I made a report. I know 100% what constantine was feeling about it, and as a staff member, it disgusted me having to rat on my friends almost just to get rid of a dupe on a pixel server. I know it was my duty as staff but I can't help but think to myself that I should have just said I found the dupe by myself. I +1 Constantine. I know Loka's rules are to say to snitch on your neighbor because friendship comes second, but that is the only rule that I don't believe in wholeheartedly. If I could go back and do things differently with my report, I 100% would, and if I were to have been fired/banned for it, I'd much rather that than to lose countless friends over block game. Sorry to other staff who read this and now are disappointed in this comment, but its the way I feel. #FreeConstantine.

So sorry for you larry.
Larry is exactly how constantine would have felt if he had reported his friends, a bittersweet feeling of "I had to do it, it was the right thing to do" was it though? Sure, if we're gonna go by the book, but it costed larry many friendships he had developed over months and months, constantine reporting his friends would've meant he prioratized loka over a 2 year+ friendship, does that sound like the right thing to do? putting a minecraft server over friends?

Make
constantine's ban a temporary ban

It's about the fact that you chose a mc servers staff over your own friends and also they didn't cheat they duped. I can understand why you wouldn't understand because you don't understand the concept of a friend 😪😪

+1 It's clear that he feels bad for not reporting it as it affected Loka but in reality, people will drop you over Minecraft (as is proven with Larry's story) and he didn't want that to happen with how long the friendships were. Considering he didn't know how to do the dupe and steered clear of it, I agree with the middle ground of a temporary ban and not an unban as it's a penalty for not helping out staff. Con was always a helpful, kind member of the community who, to my knowledge, has never had a bad rep to anyone. I personally believe maybe a 1-2 month temporary ban should remain because of all this.

Almost 2 years ago (17th December 2020) we made an announcement post making our stance on these kinds of incidents very clear.
We would like to use this post to reiterate to the community that if you know someone is breaking the rules and you do not come to us, or you assist them, you are also at risk of being banned. We have been lenient with this and generally only provided strong warnings for those failing to report bugs and rule breaks. However, we would like this post to act as a warning for everyone that we will be much stricter with punishments when it comes to this moving forward.
In our view knowing about a dupe (and not reporting) that has a wide reach and the products of it are being spread to all corners of the server (seriously harming the economy) is at least as bad as physically performing a dupe for a small amount of personal gain. The simple reason for this is the damage caused, and the time and effort it takes for us to resolve it. We appreciate this may seem unfair but we have to prioritize the wider servers' health. We have very few resources and pour huge amounts of our personal time into Loka, keeping it running for over 11 years and we have to protect that.

While we feel we have every right to make an example of your actions and keep your ban permanent, we aren't going to. You had no previous rule breaks prior to your ban and were a productive member of the community. You put effort into your appeal, and despite us disagreeing with it being unfair, we understand why you feel this way. It's also worth noting that reports are anonymous and if you had told us from the start, far fewer people would have been banned and we would have taken actions to ensure nobody knew how we found out.

Instead of making you appeal again in a few of months, we will lift the ban in 2 months, at the start of December.

(similar response to AJMoody appeal)
