Yes, doors not being locked has been fixed, but there is another problem. Zombies can still break doors, so even if they were locked to non townies, they can just be broken down and anyone can waltz in, making using doors in the first place ineffective.

The intent is to stop zombies doing that in towns, just hasn't been implemented yet.
