Fire Glitches in minecarts

I keep burning to death in minecart tunnels and I am wondering if anything can be done??

Every time I use the minecart system I have to wear armor and being potions...seems a bit much


can this glitch be fixed?

You have to go through the rails and patch up the lava lakes you go over. It's a pain but it can be easily fixed. (You might need to get under the rails if the lake goes deep)
