Suggestion helping the spawn island evolve

could we maybe help the spawn island to evolve by collecting materials every week or few days, and making everything better slowly.... Like bigger boats and stone buildings and town alcoves and stuff? Slowly, like 20 000 stone bricks for one or two houses to be remade in stone?

I was also wondering a similar thing. How are you going to level ports? I deduce that after some time they'll be upgraded, but they are so sparse as of right now. It would be nice to have some villages with NPCs that provide decent prices on basic materials.
