Kaph for Sentry

Look lets not beat around the bush here. We ALL know he deserves it and listing all the reasons why he does deserve it is quite frankly a waste of time that I don't feel like spending after a long flight back home. But he deserves it. If not now then in 5 seconds from now he deserves it. This is THE man.

People may resent this for being unconventional but he didn't ask for his nomination to be a slicer but oh man am I glad that he either realizes or was correctly convinced that he deserves more than that and he is capable of more than that. Kaph will be one of, if not THE, best sentry in my humble, jet-lagged opinion.

Super mature, kind, friendly, and helpful. While unconventional, there have been people who have been on the server for less time become sentries, so I don’t see the problem. He’ll be a great sentry. +1

Huh? That's nomads attacking claimed territory. Furthermore, it was Cornerstone members, which was an enemy town. But nice trying using EldritchBot's fight filters lol.

Regardless, I was saying that posting a fight link showing Kaph killing unaffiliated nomads dozens of times doesn't help the application. I would say the same thing about someone posting a link to that fight in one of my applications as well.

I completely agree. One thing I hate the most on Loka is people killing new players in excess. When Jotun spammed killed Gungodia. (which I might add were new players in iron armor taking a NEUTRAL) it was like the most wrong thing ever. Kaph you have officialy lost my respect. -1

Ok, this is flat out wrong with what happened. The Gungodia incident (which Kaph wasn't even at which you can see by checking logs.) was chaotic and was incited by someone else in the alliance while everyone told them not to and we have been resolving the issue since. Also the Nomad fight that was linked regarding Kaph were not new players. In fact it was players that are nomads and basically enemies to everyone or at least like to think as such. ICarrySliverhand is a nomad that joined last year so no, they are not new players. While I understand that it is in poor taste to kill nomads and new players, I don't think it should be taken into such harsh consideration unless we give Wanderer's PvP protection for their time as Wanderer (which is something I do not agree with at all).

If stopping a bunch of notorious trouble makers from setting up a town nearby our allies is enough to completely nullify everything else that Kaph_ has done then I seriously have misunderstood what is important in being a staff member. 99% of fights shouldn't be thought of when choosing these kinds of things because you don't know what has been said/done before those events.

I don't usually like replying to people's posts with counter points in here since everyone has their own point of view one what is and isn't good but I just felt this this was way off base.

You should reread that username. It's ICarrySliverhand, a player who's made it their life mission to raid Silverhand. The name itself is a parody of Steak_'s "ICarrySilverhand" and the player changed their name to that in an attempt to trick Silverhand members into letting them inside the town to raid.

As for the nomad incident, I was never trying to say that killing nomads makes you unfit to be a Sentry. I was simply telling OperaGhost that linking a fight like that does not paint Kaph in a good light, and shouldn't be linked if they support the application.
 
Why are conquest fights / nomad fights even being linked / changing peoples minds? It’s a conquest server that’s what happens lol, killing new nomads isn’t cool sure but it happens, and they can always ask for help from other towns. Kaph is still a great person to become a staff member, killing some pixels doesn't change that.

I think it's less about the actual fight and more about the consequences of the fight. Preventing nomads from claiming a territory for a town will very likely drive them away from Loka, which means less growth for us. I do, however, understand the reasoning behind preventing towns from being started in certain territories. Eldritch stopped many nomads from making their towns, but in an effort to still keep them on the server, we found it best to do so with minimum killing while also offering to help them set up their town in a less important territory.
