Age: 21
Current rank: Sentry & Dev Feller
Which rank you are applying for: Guardian
What you think is expected of this rank: I feel that Guardian is expected to be able to effectively enforce, communicate, fully represent Loka in a higher capacity than a Sentry, and investigate reports in an unbiased manner. From sitting in calls while admins are adminning, I can confirm a high level of know-how and communication required; fortunately, I'm eager to learn! I have been on and off playing Loka for the better part of five years now. I've had about three players raid my town and in the same month become Guardians, which I feel speaks to the amount of time and experience I've had around players within this role.
The short of it is, Guardians are trusted, hardworking and approachable members of the community. They sacrifice hours of their day to identify bugs, talk to players, and ensure the server maintains the standard of safety they enjoy regularly.
Why you think you should become this rank: I've been a member of Loka for a couple of years, and in that time, I'd like to say I've experienced almost every aspect of the server. I watched Resources Isles get launched, I remember when they changed from conquest two to conquest three, and I've been on both sides of conflicts; I say this because I want to communicate that despite Loka has altered every so often and commands change, I can help players who require assistance with setting up towns and identifying bugs.
I like to think I'm a fairly easy-going guy who is approachable and reasonably known by older players and forum frequenters. I often reach out to newer members of the community or those who aren't very confident speaking English to ensure they're doing alright or not struggling with any mechanics through lack of understanding.
All this being said, I feel it necessary to address this off the bat. I don't really participate in many facets of Loka. When I log on, it's to run around spawn while in a VC and do chat mod stuff. I love the server itself, I enjoy interacting with the community, and I really really like making content, but PVPing and building on live just isn't for me anymore. Now, that being said, I still am one of the most active people within discord, forums and occasionally Loka chat when I run it in the background.
When you started playing on the server: March 2017
Time zone: BST/GMT
How often do you play (hours a day/week): If I'm lucky and don't have a busy week, it can be about 8 hours a week of doing nothing in Sylvis
. If we include dev time, I'd reckon 16 -20 hours a week feels consistent for stuff.
