Loka Community Representatives Round 14

It's time for the fourteenth round of Loka Community Representatives (LCRs) to be elected!

We are making a few important changes to strengthen the connection between the LCR program and the broader Loka community. Beginning in Round 14:
  • Meetings will now be Public Fireside Chats hosted live in a Stage Channel in the Loka Discord roughly every 4-6 weeks. You can think of these as mini-state of the servers where the LCRs and Elders can more casually discuss Loka's future.
  • Notes from every LCR meeting will also be made public, including a summary of topics discussed and attendance records for each LCR.
  • These meetings will remain distinct from the State of the Server, despite sharing a similar format. Rather than major announcements, they are intended to be more casual, regular discussions about ongoing feedback and short-term community concerns. Additionally, live questions will be more limited to keep meetings shorter.
  • Meetings will continue to be managed and scheduled by the Community Manager.
These changes are intended to make the LCR program more visible, accessible, and directly connected to the community which it represents. By giving LCRs a clearer public role in community discussion, we also hope to make the position feel more impactful and worthwhile for potential applicants.

Running for LCR
You have until Friday, June 26th, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time to nominate yourself for the role, and voting will begin on Saturday, June 27th, 2026.

Nominate Yourself Here using This Template.

Note:
  • You must meet the requirements at the bottom of this post to run.
  • You are welcome to run if you have previously been an LCR. However, we do keep track of attendance and may disqualify players from running if they attended only a few meetings or generally failed to contribute.

Voting for LCRs
Players on Loka will be able to vote for nominees in-game from Saturday, June 27th, to Saturday, July 4th. We will use Ranked Choice Voting (voters will pick nominees in order of preference), and the voting pool will be limited to players who have reached a certain playtime threshold over the last 3 months. Following voting, the players elected will hold the position for roughly 3 or 4 months. If an LCR is promoted to Guardian during their term, they will be allowed to remain an LCR for the remainder of their term.

What is an LCR?
A group of player-elected representatives from within the active community that participates in higher-level discussions about the server. As a representative, you will have the opportunity to help give direct feedback and advice on server features, as well as have access to a channel within the Loka Discord to have direct communication with Loka's Elders. LCR meetings will be hosted periodically in a Stage Channel in the Loka Discord. Additionally, LCRs will have access to the Community Subforum where they can post discussion threads about pressing topics. Only LCRs can create posts in the subforum, but all players can reply to threads there as usual.

Expectations of an LCR
  1. Be a regularly active member of the community.
  2. Represent the views and interests of the community.
  3. Engage respectfully with other representatives, the community, and the staff team.
  4. Make every reasonable effort to show up to LCR meetings.
  5. Ensure the privacy of any information regarding upcoming features that you may be asked about; otherwise, most things will be open for representatives to share with the community.
Violation of these expectations may result in immediate removal, being barred from participation in the future, and potential punishment on the server.

Requirements to Run
  • Must not be muted.
  • Must not have been banned recently.
  • Must follow the application template.
  • Must be considered active over the past 3 months (same check for voting).
  • Must not be a Guardian.
  • Must be able to communicate well in English.
  • Must be able to listen to VC meetings and respond via text (ideally talk in them).
  • (If running again) Have participated reasonably often in past rounds through discussion, VCs, or attending meetings.
