Suggestion Material Stock Market - Rotating Drop Boosts to Keep the Server Interested

How it would work:

A couple times a day a different material gets a solid boost, think +25-50% drop rates for stuff like Gunpowder, Ender Pearls, Blaze Powder, Ghast Tears. These boosts would apply server-wide but especially shine with infested tiles and could be tied into resource isles.

When a boost kicks in, the Discord bot drops an @everyone ping like:
@everyone — Booster Alert! Gunpowder drop rates increased by 30% for the next 2 hours! Time to load up and fight for those infested tiles!

Short and straight to the point. Players feel like “I gotta get on RIGHT NOW” .

Why this would be amazing for Loka:

1. Spreads out player activity

Instead of everyone only logging in during EU/US prime time, these boosts would pull people on during off-hours. Got a weird schedule? Cool, then catch the 2am Pearl boost and help your town. It keeps the server active 24/7.

2. Creates more natural PvP hotspots

Everyone knows exactly where the value is during the window. Infested tiles that are normally desolate suddenly become war zones. Resource isles turn into massive alliance battlegrounds. It’s organic conflict driven by the economy instead of forced events which is exactly what Loka should be like.

3. Builds hype and community

This will cause players to join calls together and coordinate going to these events. Essentially forcing a community aspect.

4. Works with what we already have

No need for massive new mechanics. Just multipliers on existing drop tables for infested/resource areas. Staff could even theme certain boosts (Nether week)

I completely agree with this suggestion because it would make the server feel much more active throughout the day. Right now, a lot of players only log on during peak hours when most people are online. With rotating resource boosts, players would have a reason to jump on at different times, whether it's for a Gunpowder boost, Ender Pearl boost, or another valuable resource. This would help spread player activity across the entire day and make the world feel more alive.

Another reason I support this idea is because it would create natural PvP and competition. Instead of relying on scheduled events, players would fight over the areas that suddenly become much more valuable during a boost window. Infested tiles and resource isles would turn into hotspots where towns, alliances, and rival groups compete for resources. The best part is that the conflict would be driven by player decisions and the economy, which fits perfectly with Loka's style of gameplay.

Finally, this feature would encourage more teamwork and community interaction while requiring very little development effort. Players would organize in Discord, form groups, and coordinate resource runs whenever a boost is announced. The Discord alerts would generate excitement and create a sense of urgency that gets people online immediately. Since the system mainly relies on modifying existing drop rates rather than introducing entirely new mechanics, it offers a high reward for a relatively simple implementation. Overall, this would be a fun, engaging addition that benefits both PvE and PvP players across the server.

+1

This is not a just "Stock Market", it's a dynamic economic flashpoint system that drives player activity, PvP, and communication coordination around high-value resources.

To be more serious, this suggestion goes against our philosophy of respecting players' time by making Loka always playable and accessible. We want people to be able to play Loka at any commitment level. This would make people feel obligated to put in more time than they would normally, but only because they would feel behind otherwise. Obviously we want people to play Loka as much as possible, but not at the expense of their sanity solely because they feel they have to.

You lot have made it so much harder to get materials and shards. You haven’t been respecting players times. Currently it takes several hours to get a shulker of GP. What are we on about 😭

Dude wrote a whole Claim Evidence Reason to +1 a minecraft server suggestion

+1 i wouldnt make it daily, cuz i think that the idea of a market being surrounded players buying brewing mats and things adjacent to that creates more of an economic flow, but I'd change it to weekly. Maybe once a week? But nice idea
