Hello fellow lokans, I am writing this to appeal my ban. with an genuine apology to the person I harassed and the community for my actions. I want to be completely honest about everything I have done. First, I will discuss my actions leading up to my ban, then the 8 & 1/2 months after my ban. And explain what I have done since my ban to reflect on my actions.
About my ban: Before I go into full detail, I won't name the person so they are not annoyed by questions.
The weeks leading up to my ban, I learned of a loka player's address. I made a serious and irresponsible decision to make fun of this user by screen sharing there address in a vc, causing harm by saying it in voice calls and typing it in Discord channels with the intent to harass them. I fully admit it was a horrible thing I did, and I feel fully responsible for what I did. What I did was dangerous and unacceptable. doxxing and harassing someone is not ok and violates their real-world privacy and safety and goes far beyond a Discord beef. Bringing real-world information into vc's and chats creates a toxic and unsafe environment for everyone in the Loka community. I am fully responsible for what I did and the impact I caused on the victim of my actions. There is no justification for what I did. My actions were completely unacceptable. I understand now that using someone's personal information as an argument or to mock someone is more serious than just a normal disagreement. I understand the responsibility is more than apologizing can fix. I recognize the behavior was wrong and I will never put anyone in that position again.
During the 8 months since my ban, I stepped away from everything surrounding any communities in Loka, leaving every Discord and not talking to anyone from the community that involved my ban. I have taken the time to seriously think about what I did and the kind of person I was being when I made those decisions. I learned actions online have bigger consequences than the moment they happen. I have seen a different perspective of how my actions affect someone longer than just the day it happens. Using or storing harmful information is disgraceful and dangerous. It was completely my fault for storing and using this information to harm someone.
I am genuinely sorry to the person I harassed. No one deserves to have their personal information used against them in any way. I regret the discomfort and harm my actions caused you. I am sorry to the Loka staff team for having to deal with my behavior.
I am not asking anyone to forget or pretend my actions were not anything but disgusting. I can only ask you to consider the time I have spent outside the community reflecting on my actions and the changes I have made. I am committed to making sure nothing happens like this again.
