Suggestion More Fun Suggestions!

These suggestions are going to be short and simple.

First some quality of life things.
  1. Fix the amount of ancient ingots it takes to repair tools (It makes more sense to throw away a pickaxe than repair it)
  2. Command to see when Resource Isles reset
  3. Change trapped chest for the input in industries to a regular chest

The suggestions that I think would be really cool:
  • No regen of blocks under Y-25 or lower, idk what would be reasonable
    • Reason: GIVE ME MORE INTERCONTINENTAL SUPERHIGHWAYS
  • Permanent parkour course in spawn
    • Reason: Would give people more things to do on Loka, also people love parkour

Personally I do feel it is almost easier to make a bunch of new picks, however AIs aren't really an end game think for people on Loka imo, mending is. New players are the ones who benefit from it due to lack of XP bottles, and I believe that they are fine especially considering that inflation will only increase.
Command to see when Resource Isles reset
This would be amazing. Maybe make it something in /profile, or better yet, show up under the quest menu.
Change trapped chest for the input in industries to a regular chest
I don't think this is a good idea because it's purposely a trapped chest so you are able to differentiate between the two when placing them. I think a better alternative would be to have it physically be a regular chest, but drop a trapped one.

  • Reason: GIVE ME MORE INTERCONTINENTAL SUPERHIGHWAYS
I want me some superhighways and would love to see this done somehow. Maybe make it similar to the trails where the landscape only deteriorates when people go by it, but instead make it deteriorate less the more people walk by it below y25.

Big parkour course would be cool, but a RACE track? Come onnnnnn.

It takes like 7 AIs to fix a pick. That is 224⨕. That's kinda nuts.

I don't know how you would do that. I think it would just make more sense for no regen at all below a certain Y level.

AIs are merely a stopper to you no longer being able to repair a pickaxe or other item with durability. They're not supposed to be super economical as they serve to repair a wide range of items and if it's cheaper to make a new pick, so be it. Elytras and god swords are much more expensive than a pickaxe, and they are also repaired using the AI. Now admittedly they might be a slight bit scammy even for those two, but as I said previously, mending is the endgame for Loka players repairing items and I feel changing pricing on AIs will just be too much of an upset to the already broken economy.

From what I understand the server just sort of chooses what to regen at random, and to stop the regen in specific areas you could set a radius around the player to be immune to this, and when the server checks if it wants to regen there, you just stop it dead in it's tracks. Making nothing regen down there probably isn't the smartest of ideas solely because if someone wanted to, they could go and build a dark room as Kiadmowi stated above. The server's systems are all built so that rules such as no darkrooms don't actually need active enforcers, and this one should not be an exception.

I don't want to change the price of AI's, I just want the number of AI's required to fix a pickaxe reduced. The fact that it takes 7 or so AI's is nuts. Mending is not the end goal for most of the players on Loka. People lose their gear far too often for that to be a goal.

not a bad idea but cue all the darkrooms people will make that are against the rules
I think people have those already. I am not sure why dark rooms are even against the rules. I understand why like mob grinders aren't allowed but people already basically have dark rooms they are just less flat. Is it worth ruining such a cool idea for preventing flat ground? I think the whole dark rooms thing is kinda a joke for that reason. People have giant caves that are just as effective.

If the reason to ban dark rooms is solely because it lags the server or spawns mobs I'd argue it might be better to diminish the advantages of dark rooms than outlawing them.

I just don't believe that there is any reason to ban making dark rooms when they essentially already exist.

1. Balak Buff
2. Yes. Somehow please
3. This is because the output is a regular chest

4. People had highways, but when 1.15 came in the regen bc of new biomes wiped them although you can just dig them out again I believe.
5. Yes.

To be fair a number of things are outlawed/nerfed on Loka for performance reasons. After sharding is done, it's likely we will begin to have some conversations on things that (may) no longer need to be nerfed or be against the rules since we won't suffer the same performance losses as we once did.

Good to hear especially with the dark room thing. If performance is the only reason for not allowing dark rooms that holds back tons of potential for those underground superhighways between cities.

When you change how many AIs it takes to repair an item, you might not be outright changing the price per AI, but you are changing the value of an AI which in turn could affect the price. AIs server a wide range of items like Foxy mentioned and they provide a significant resource sink for the server's economy. Going anywhere but up with the cost/value of AIs seems unreasonable in my view.

BUT SPARKY 7 AIS TO REPAIR A PICKAXE. People are going to buy them regardless.
