New Ibbish Lore

New Ibbish was founded by immigrants from Old Ibbish seeking opportunity in the new world called Ascalon. The very first settlers founded ther little settlement on the shores on the Iris lake, in central Ascalon, however this turned out to be a horrible mistake. Raiders and Monsters alike made the life of the Settlers sour, they had to come up with a better alternative.
One young man (nokiaman) suggested to build a town in the middle of the Lake, and use the tides to ther own defense. Preparations were made, and the construction of a great platform had began supported by huge pillars. A bridge was built to connect the the platform to the mainland.
As more and more settlers arrived small buildings began to flourish the Platform. Soon small canals filling the streets, providing the Town Inhabitants with fresh water for each of ther houses. An election was hold and the very young man who came up with the idea was elected Mayor of the Town now called New Ibbish, in homage to the very town they had left.
As the seasons passed, New Ibbish grew into more than a little settlement,and into a shiny beacon with Taverns, Mines, Lumbermills, and even Farms on the surrounding country side providing all sorts of Food. A dock was build so the Inhabitants of New Ibbish could use the river connecting with the Sea to sail back and forth from Aladra to trade.
As New Ibbish grew, so did its influence over central Ascalon. This rapid expansion was noted by other towns. New Ibbish first real battle was the Siege of Castle Grey, which was under siege by the
northern Town Hilo, supported by the current capital of Ascalon, Eldritch. After many days of fighting back and forth, New Ibbish lost, even with the support of Old Ibbish. Hiloian soldiers now overran New Ibbish territory unchecked.
Sometime went by and New Ibbish retaliated by sending an expeditionary force to the Cold wastes of Kalros. However this turned out to be another disaster, poor planning, unforgiving weather and superior Hiloian military strength wich was well prepabeat the New Ibbishian force back into the sea. Things was looking grim for New Ibbish.
To the west in the continent of Garama, a warlord from the swamps of Fang Creek, increased Hostility between the two Towns. Once more New Ibbish rallied an army and sailed to Garama. However this time they came prepared. With the New Ibbishian force winning battles at every corner of the Garama Swamps, Fang Creek decided to behead the Warlord, and open peace negotiations. A peace treated was signed inside Castle Fang, and the Ibbish went back home to Ascalon.
