Perma Mutes are now live and players who have previous warnings for chat rule breaks may not be given further warnings before being perma muted.
What Are They?
They will prevent a player from sending pm's in Loka, chatting on the PvP server and using any chat channel in Loka, with the exception of town chat. You will also lose permissions to talk in alliance chat from discord. The only chat channel you will have access to is town chat. You may still use commands not related to chat.
Why Are They Being Added?
How Will They Be Applied
They will be given to players more frequently than bans and temp bans. If a player receives a warning for a serious breach of chat rules, the next time they do it they'll receive a perma mute. If they are more minor chat infringements, i.e spamming or a swear word not targetted at anyone, we will be more lenient on the number of warnings we give before perma muting.
How Do I Get Unmuted
The only way to get unmuted would be to make an appeal on the forums.

- We can apply this 'punishment' far faster/earlier in the process than we can a ban or temp ban. This means chat should be a more pleasant place, as we can take these people out of public chat channels faster.
- Staff will have to spend less time dealing with chat offences.
- They allow players to still play on the server without getting banned.
- No matter how many temp bans and warnings some players receive, they are unable to change their behaviour. (This is part of the reason other length mutes are not being added, it just delays the perma mute, and allows them another chance to be a nuisance in chat.)
