Suggestion Pro-Raiding rule.

Hey there,

I wanted to drop a suggestion I feel that Loka has been missing out on, a lot of the rules here are very pro-defender and leave raiders with a very lackluster feel. As it is most players use pearl gates after level 22 to prevent any outside access to their base, I get the point of it as otherwise we would have the ugliest blocks of towns laying around and it would take away the overall feel that Loka has and what makes it special but there is one grievance I have that I cannot wrap my head around.

I was trying my hand at raiding a couple of towns and the time it takes to do so is very tedious with pearl restrictions and Elytra limitations, regardless, I thought it would be a fun thing to do, I approached a town I found an easy way to get over the wall, but then stopped, because once I got in, how was I getting out? The only current method of getting out of a town that you got into is by /kill if there are no other openings, this makes raiding pretty much futile as if you get in somewhere in someone's base and cant use pearls, elytra, place blocks, or mine; there is simply no way out.

I suggest that a simple way to favor both raiders and defenders alike is to leverage one item on the server called the "recall stone" and allow it to be used in enemy towns and territories. This will create an easy way for raiders to get out of a base they spent so long and hard to get into, with the loot they brought and the loot they stole still intact.

This can be with as many disadvantages as yall feel as well, like maybe the recall stone has a 2 minute warm up in enemy zones, or if you are invisible and use the stone the potion effect is removed, perhaps even have it make a really loud warping noise. Anything, we just really need something to favor raiders a tad rather than restricting them to obsoleteness. At current standing, if you want to raid, your only luck is bullying new players who have no walls or protection, as once they do have even a 4-block high wall, you have no way of raiding.

I hope this suggestion will be taken into consideration and thank you for the read.

I hate to say it but this is a skill issue. It's still very possible to raid towns as people constantly leave enderchests and town portals unguarded.

I've seen many towns owned by established players lose loads of items, it really does just require you to be creative.

That's a fair point but some places can't be raided if they avoid enderchest being left around or move their town portal inside their town HQ, those raiding tactics really only work against those without a strong concept of the game. It definitely is possible for some raids, im not deflecting that, it would just be nice to see something that gives raiders a slight benefit over those defending.

from my experience 99% of towns have some open enderchest to get stuff out if anything the hard part of raiding is getting inside the town and with the new limitations it isn’t getting any easier I don’t mind a harder challenge but the new limitations just feel boring and dull it feels like I am being punished for finding solutions to whatever problem I find in raiding because every time I do so it somehow gets nerfed

you can't use the recall stone in enemy territories? LOL that's insanely stupid

I understand it's definitely quite OP for it to be used in a town as it is a very easy way to get out

but my suggestion would be to remove the current recall stones as they are right now and instead of making them a relatively cheap craft, make them a quest item or a legendary loot bundle drop to make it way rarer to balance how good it would be, stones not being able to be used in enemy towns is dumb.

As well, recall stones would trivialize raiding unfortunately. The ability to trap a player in your town would completely vanish if they could always just recall stone out. Making recall stones rarer isn't really a good solution here.

in what situations do people use recall stones anyway

I supposed people use them when going exploring really far in another continent to get back and stuff
I could see it useful for KD warriors to use them to refill without doing /kill and refilling

I think they need more luv :recallstone:

There is no restriction on using recall stones in enemy territories, just towns.
Last time I checked, there were a lot if stupid restrictions on them unless they were bugs and were fixed recently. Pretty sure I have a rant somewhere about all the odd restrictions in which you couldn’t use them.

Can't use em in combat, in a town, or in a soul link fight. That's all the restrictions there have ever been.

before elytras??? they've been way less useful for a good minute then...

so don't you wanna make em useful D:

It's more about adding to Loka in ways that make them more useful, they're not particularly hard to acquire; there are just plenty of other ways to fast travel on the server at the moment.
