Dear loka players and staff members.
You might know me as itsredstonepro or protocoder.
Itsredstonepro was my former minecraft account. Due to some unfortunate circumstances during the development of a piece of software of mine, I installed hidden malware in a dependency.
This took over my pc for some time. Luckily I was there to catch it in time and act accordingly. I was able to save most accounts, lost a few, including my microsoft account.
As you might know, microsoft support belongs at the garbage disposal, so I couldn't get my account back, even if i showed the proof of payment and the recovery code/payment code thingy.
That's what brings us to loka.
Me loving minecraft and Loka, I bought a new minecraft account. However once i joined the server, it was blocked for being an alt account or something like that.
Since i did not have access to the other microsoft account, i had to take the automatic account transfer. Apparently it was in it's early stages. It took some time but it transferred successfully.
Then i started to play Loka again, it was all normal. One time i logged in and walked trough the portal to spawn. Then something at the server side got confused, and teleported me to a old instance of the loka spawn. I started to walk around and explore, because it was fun to see the old spawn. I did not think any of it until i accidentally broke a piece of grass. I thought: That isn't right!
It should've had block protection. So i tried to break some more, and it worked.
This is where i went wrong.
I collected some items i liked to have on my personal display. I should've reached out to Cryptite at this point, but i didn't. I made the wrong decision to explore the bug while it lasted because i wasn't going to do anything serious anyways.
I tried to research the bug, and when or why it would occur, but it was at complete random intervals. I could not predict when it would occur. I was not hiding the fact that I obtained unobtainable items. I knew that staff would notice. I was walking around with them around spawn and showing my foundings to other players. These were for my own personal collection of items and were strictly not for sale. I intended to do no harm to the economy or the equality of player fights. Eventually staff caught up, I cooperated. While i did abuse the bug for my own good, i cooperated with staff and told them the information i knew so they could fix it. I am truely sorry that i did not report it earlier, and abused it. It was my childish curiousity that took me over.
Not long ago I graduated from high school and started at my local university. Since my ban I grew as a person and as a professional. My actions i did then were not appropiate. I would not do the things i did then, now. I still like to play minecraft when i got the time for it. But i miss loka. It was my go-to server for a very long period. I like loka and their unique approach to a towny server. That's why i would love to come back and play again. I have lot's of redstone projects i still need to make, and there isn't a more fun server to do that on than loka.
TLDR: I am truely sorry that I abused a bug, i deeply regret that i've done that. I grown as a person since my ban, and make better choices now. I miss loka and would like to play on it again.
I was banned at the end of february 2024.
My deepest regrets,
Protocoder (formely itsredstonepro)
