Slicer
Pheonix has been really involved in conquest in the last few months and isn't toxic in chat. He's introduced new players to loka, helped them out and is a nice person to be around.

I feel like I should delve into the purpose of the Slicer rank slightly. Participation in Conquest, and the mere state of not being toxic, isn't what qualifies somebody for the role. If an individual is already ready to become Slicer, then these qualities may be helpful, but only in addition to the core expectations of Slicers. Similarly, being a "nice person to be around" is obviously a positive thing, but does that really mean someone should be promoted?

As somebody who is quite highly active on the server, I rarely see him welcome or help new players. Perhaps with one or two exceptions for people entering his town. In addition, I've known Pheonix for over 2 years, and don't believe he behaves in a way that would make him fit for Slicer.

It'll be a -1 from me.

I'm not really sure if anybody actually understands the meaning of Slicer rank.

Slicer isn't something you nominate someone for just because you like them and they're your friend.

Being popular doesn't and shouldn't get you slicer, it's the good players that frequently help in the community that deserve and get the rank.
The Slicer role is just a respected member of the community, somebody who the higher ups believe represents what Loka is trying to embody. Therefore the little things I list below should be some qualities the people who are nominated should have.

Helping new players and welcoming them, answering their questions, showing them around is what has built the slicers we have today, mostly. Also not just helping new players but also helping Loka behind the scenes by participating in discussions and giving helpful bug reports or feedback, building, hosting player events and so much more. I'm not saying you need to do all that for the slicer rank but doing at least one or two of them often is more like it. Seeing a bunch of people who rarely ever greet a new player or rarely even speak in chat to help someone, let alone report a bug or comment on forums or even contribute to the server in anyway except playing at all keep getting nominated by their friends. Not only that but full groups or towns piggyback on these nominations to make it look like a lot of people support it, they might support it, but if it's a false nomination and not deserved it's purely a waste of time and almost destructive to the Loka community.

However, I'm sure the staff that decide who these ranks are given to surely know who to choose and who not to choose. But electing people just because they're your friend and you like them isn't what this is supposed to be about. Slicer is also a gateway to higher staff positions and being able to further guide players.

This isn't just happening with slicer, it happens with ban appeals and other applications. People who shouldn't be pardoned getting a lot of support from their friends just so it looks like they deserve it.

I feel these kind of actions should stop, elect people for any position because they deserve it and can bring good change the Loka, not because they're your favourite person.

(I am fully aware I fit don't fit the qualities for any rank higher than settler, I am saying this because it happens so often and is concerning to mine and others future lokan experience)

P.S. Of course being nice is a good quality for slicer but it also isn't everything. Also if you feel this was directed at you, it's not. I took a break from reading forums and looked again yesterday and saw the same issue from what I skimmed through, that's all.

This post makes a lot of really good points and I think it's a good guideline for who should and shouldn't be slicer. No offense meant to Soukou or Pheonix but I feel this is an unintentional friend nominates a friend. (I am guilty of doing this as well so again this is not meant to be offensive.) I will not deny that Pheonix is not a toxic person and he does (from what I can tell) help new players that join his town. Only ones that join his town. To be qualified for slicer it is good to help the entire community as a whole not just those who join his town. It is understandable to welcome players under certain circumstances for example being AFK or in a fight. That being said I don't think I've seen Pheonix welcome a player more than maybe twice when he was able to. So Pheonix, you're a great guy but I don't think you are eligible for slicer. -1

Orange trees

I haven't really seen him helping out players in chat, but he does play the server a lot and is a loyal member of the community, so I’m going to just leave it as a +0.

While I've never been in an alliance or close friends with Pheonix, the few discord and in game conversations I've had with him have been pretty bright. He has also been around awhile and has helped bring a good number of people to the server, as well as maintaining an upbeat attitude the entire way. Its also good to have a very diverse group of slicers so he would make a great addition.

The real defining factor here is how he stacks up to the remainder of the applications as this is a very diverse and large group of applicants for the Head Admins to chose from.

I think he would make a good slicer so +1 from me

Honestly I like Pheonix, he seems like a reasonable person, he brings new players to Loka, recruits new random members and I don't really associate him with being toxic.

I believe people associate him with being toxic due to them associating his general group with toxic behaviour.

This isn't a plus one it or a minus one as my interactions with him have been limited (different time zones) but I certainly wouldn't say he's toxic.
