when one side gives up and the month ends early its pretty annoying as merc towns to not being able to have small conquest fights on your continent, and more importantly not being able to take neutrals.

you’re experiencing the downside of being a Merc Town leave the alliance whenever you wanted and get tiles and change the fate of an entire continent that would be utterly ridiculous and dangerous

Each continent has atleast one big alliance so if a solo town was able to change the fate of the continent I think the big alliance would have themselves to blame

Continental locks are currently one of the very few downsides of being a merc town, if they are removed then there is basically no downside at all to being a merc. You shouldn't be able to leave your alliance on a foreign continent mid-way through a month and potentially influence the outcome of your home continents month.

However you are still able to fight Rivis, so its not as if you cannot fight for the rest of the month.

For the "not being able to take neutrals" side of things, what I believe most towns do is either have somebody save their lock OR promote a trusted recruit to Subowner and have them place and do the neutral for you.

in other words whether you can change or not the fate of the continent for example when I first started playing Loka Dzne was fighting against Bits, and I was double placing with dzne i won just one fight and i got 21 str and that str set them back quite a bit and Dzne won the month

-1 they exist for a reason and i already think merc towns are bad enough as is, at the very least you should have to commit to whichever alliance you are mercing for and that should include a continental lock
