Which role you are applying for: PvE role

Why you think you should become this role: I think that I would be a good choice for the PvE role because I want to help improve the server in the quest department. As I've played for months, I have noticed how boring the server can often get and I think that I could definitely help to add things to the server to make it more than just grinding for occasional pvp. When I played the past quests on Loka, I realized how good the server could be if there was a few more of these quests to keep players coming back for more. I really enjoy writing stories and films, and I think my skills could help to develop future quests and updates. I don't have much experience with the all the programming work that goes into the quests, but I would love to learn and contribute.

When you started playing on the server: May 2020

Time zone: EST

How often do you play (hours a day/week): 2-6 hours a day

Favourite NPC on Loka: Edo's town npc, "UghBracisol" because he gives me people's gear when they get trapped in the town :)

Example of a quest you would write if you were accepted: If I were accepted I would like to make smaller quests that could be made in a few days which would give small rewards to keep players active, and enjoying the server. If these types of quests existed and were released maybe every one or two weeks, I'm sure that so many players would enjoy the server much more. An example of one of these mini quests would be a quest where players explore different ruins or old monuments across Loka, and could tell them information about the lore of these old towns if they were interested.

Another thing I would really love to help create would be a small quest for brand new players. It would be available to them as soon as they finish the intro, and it would give them a tour of spawn and introduce them to a small part of the town system. This would be optional, kind of like the old mineplex tour of spawn thingy.

That's awesome to hear, I can assure you there's a lot of quests discussed that are in that vein with a lot of google docs. It would be a welcomed hand imo :).

Don't consider this a road block as it's something that you can learn in a day. I enjoy seeing your activities on the forums. The more the merrier. Best of luck :timmy:

+1 Although Sami might have just joined the server last summer, I think he would make a good PVE Developer. From what I've seen he definitely cares about the server and I think he would definitely make a good fit for someone who could build new quests for the server.

And don't sweat the programming stuff my guy, the only programming that actually goes into quests is Crypt continually adding new features to the system as well as the MythicMobs (Which is more a configuration type thing than anything else). The quests themselves aren't much of any programming at all, more writing, using the quests commands, skins, etc. involved.

I think Sami would be nothing but a positive influence on the team. +1

Sami, I would look into mythic mobs and the server questing system. From when I was on the team, there was always a need for people willing to make the technicals behind the quests, and I doubt much has changed in that regard. Even if you suck at writing lore/quests like I do, it's pretty simple to make it all work. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, I’m gonna look into it today.

+1, maybe he will invent a new quest that allows him and the rest of edo to warp to rivina!

GOOD LUCK!

+1 Sami is constantly coming up with ideas for Loka that never stop impressing me. As he has the mind of a child he is much more creative than most of the Lokan community and would be a great addition to the Loka quests and events team. Looking forward to hopefully seeing some of the countless ideas that Samisol has come up with implemented into Loka in the near future.
