What I think is expected of this rank:

Sentry Rank inherently requires that those who hold the rank maintain a respectable level of maturity and integrity. Sentries are essentially the face of server and as such are expected to represent the values of the server and enforce them and the rules that have been set forth. Additionally, they report to admins and are effectively their eyes and ears, where they keep track of any suspicious activity. In this capacity, Sentries should be judicious in their role.​


Why I think I should become this rank:

First and foremost, I believe that I possess adequate experience in performing this role. I have been both a moderator and an admin on a previous server, with roughly two years’ experience. In those roles I have had experience in enforcing rules, working directly with the community and other staff members as the responsibilities of the ranks dictate. Secondly, I am a regularly and significantly active on the server, and while I do not post a lot on the forums, I do check it on a daily basis. Likewise, I have been on the server for only about 4-5 months, but I think my activity throughout that time proves that I am serious about being involved. More importantly, though, I am deeply invested in the server and have a great appreciation for the community, all of its players, and the content they have created. With that in mind, I am eager to throw my hat in the ring, so to speak, and do my part to get involved and help everyone as I am capable.​

How often I play (hours a day/week):

I am generally more active during the weekend, but on most week days I am still pretty active. I usually play for an average of 4-6 hours on the week days and a bit more on the weekend.​

Fantastic guy and a fantastic nominee. Though his sleeping schedule is absolutely atrocious and I have no clue how he functions (seriously Sparky I hope you're working on that), I believe he would be an incredible addition to the list of sentries we currently have. In the approximate 1 month that I have actually known Sparky he has been one of the most mature and kind players I have met. Even during the occasional chaos that is discord voice chat I always feel like he is the one who is making sure people don't get a bit too... heated.

Also, I believe that he is a friendly face to the vast majority of the server and he talks often in public chat and I see him helping people whenever there's a question being asked.

Before this gets to be too long winded and eventually spirals into me repeating myself, I'll just say again that I think Sparky will be an incredible addition that the majority of the server will be elated to see with the tag of Sentry.
 
I'll try to keep this relatively short. That said, there's so much praise that I can give Sparky, so I also would like to include as much as I can. I also want to preface this by acknowledging that, yes, I am clearly biased. However, working so closely alongside Sparky over recent months have allowed me to get to know him - and also let me realise how deserving he is of the Sentry role. Also, I apologise for any English mistakes in advance.

First of all, he already fulfils all of the current duties a Sentry is expected to perform (other than actual enforcement, obviously). I know that he actively reads the forums, uses the Discord chat often, and always helps players when they need it. That last point is arguably one of the most important parts of a Sentry's activities - to help players. I can vouch for this personally. Many of our player group wouldn't have remained active on Loka if it wasn't for the assistance and helpfulness of Sparky himself. That, in itself, is rather impressive.

Without advertising, I know that Sparky has been staff on other servers. From this, he would have extensive experience with all the tasks that would present themselves. I will defer to Jibbly on this one, as he has personally witnessed Sparky's administrative responsibility. I'm sure that his expertise and knowledge would be an asset to the current team of Sentries.

In the time I've known Sparky, he has shown an excellent awareness of the rules. I do not believe he has ever come close to violating any of Loka's rules. In fact, he has been my first point of call when I am uncertain of a rule's finer technicalities.

I can't help but mention that, just as a guy, Sparky is a great person. He is friendly, approachable, and reliable. I am personally very glad to have him as a friend. On top of that, he is very active on the server. He engages in many (and dare I say, all) aspects of Loka - from diplomacy, to Conquest, to lore, to alcoholism, Sparky has done it.

Sparky has always been very helpful and kind, he let Alpenland into the alliance even though we're very new, and when we couldn't afford the alliance taxes, he immediately lowered them to something we can afford. This is definitely a +1 from me.
