What Is Storm Surge (Fortnite)?​


Storm Surge is Fortnite’s way of saying “fight or die.”
If too many players are alive during certain storm phases, the game checks who’s done the least damage. Those players start taking 25 damage every 5 seconds until enough are eliminated. It’s meant to stop camping and force aggression.


  • Triggered at player thresholds (like 70, 50, 30).
  • Punishes passive players.
  • Encourages constant fighting and rotation.


Why It Works in Massive Minecraft Wars (100v100)​


In big Minecraft battles, people love to hide, camp, or lag out the server by avoiding fights. Storm Surge would:


  • Prevent stalemates by pushing passive players into combat.
  • Speed up the match by auto-eliminating campers.
  • Reward aggression, strategy, and teamwork.
  • Keep the server cleaner, since fewer players = less lag.

I'm a terrible pvper who chooses to sit on building to play vicious defense. This suggestion punishes the people who chose not to aggressively push up and fight because they know they'd die and are more useful in "support" roles.

This also doesn't stop the passive "campers" who stay in the back/side and kill players who are refilling. They can still stay on the sidelines away from players and just keep potting until the threshholds are reached.

Most of the lag on ascalon isn't even from the players, it's all the towns (chunks, entities, hoppers, etc) that are loaded on the same shard. Similar sized balak fights are still laggy but definitely not as bad as ascalon.
 
Wouldn’t this just engulf the building at some point… (read wrong my bad thought you meant a storm)
 
I didnt even read what zye said but as it is a -1 she is probably right. -1 terrible idea
 
This would punish other forms of playing conquest other than the player moshpit at mid, this is not what we want. Also did you even write this?

This would work if a victor was decided by the last side standing, but thats not the case
