Territory Colors

Howdy,

I'm not big on all the towns in an alliance using the same color on the map. Each continent feels much less lively to look at and anyone who needs clarification on who is allied to who can just check in-game. You also get a feel for which alliances are more centralized/same "culture" with one color vs. a more loose confederation with many colors.

Still a fan of a "Fame" score that towns have to keep up or their color fades out to gray though.

All The Best,

Mason (McBadbat)

I think a better way of doing this is just the option to swap between alliances and towns colors. Make the selection stored as well so you don't have to redo it. Overall, I totally agree. I liked individuality a lot.

I mean the simple answer is don't be in an alliance. For clarity reasons we have moved towards unifying towns under an alliance as it's important that people can see who is on what side at a glance. I could see using a secondary visual queue to differentiate towns.

Bruh moment.

Why? /c ranks works wonders and I doubt anyone cares about alliances on the map and you can literally hover over the town and territory to see what alliance they're in. Not really needed to add the colors thing, people just need to move their mouse cursor.

Maybe an individual town color outline, so if you're the same color as your ally, your territory gets a different colored outline. That's if enough people think it's a problem though, I personally don't really mind the map being the same color.

As Silver said, I think a good option is having the town borders (and that town's territories border's) reflect their color. I think it would especially help to better clarify which town owns what territories, and give the sense of individuality that Mason and others are looking for.

Maybe every town NEEDS to be a different color, but the outline depends on whether or not you're allied. Black border means independent, and than you can set your alliance border colors with something like /g a color. The border colors will belong to whatever alliance and set as the border colors for all towns in the alliance. A bit unnecessary but will give all players something they'd want in the map! Also when I was a leader I liked deciding all of this stuff, just makes it a little more fun for me anyways.

Could be a fun idea

make it a system where you can give individual towns in your alliance to have perms to change only their colour if you're alliance owner, much like perms for other things. that way you dont have a rainbow on every continent but alliance owners can choose to let people do their thang

Sort of the idea I outlined in my post above. Could be /town color accent <color> and /town color primary <color>. I believe there's some post I made a while ago with a bunch of map update ideas, and this would definitely be something that could be implemented with that.
