Suggestion Tournament bribing

I think that going forwards people shouldn’t be able to persuade people or bribe people to vote for their tournament. It turns the voting into a pay to win session. Where in my opinion it should be the nicest looking town/arena.

It demotivates the town which builds really nice looking tournaments just to lose to towns who pay people to vote for them all.

I don’t know how this can be prevented but could it possibly be looked into. So the rich don’t get richer and other towns have an opportunity.

thats kinda bad idea there should be criteria for builds. otherwise we cannot make comparisons what looks good to one person might not to another and there is no standard for judgment.

Something could be added such as a rule stating that festivals failing to introduce a new design should not be selected again
 
+1 I agree that something needs to be done about this now because when it comes to tournament selections votes are no longer cast based on which tournament people want but on who offers the most money
 
Persuading friends, allies, and others to vote is one thing and trying to fight that would be weird, but paying for votes is a bit disgusting and goes against the spirit of voting itself. At this point doing an auction where you bid and the highest bidder gets to become the tourney host would make more sense 😂 (that would also become a shard sink!!!)

silva would be festival hoster for years then or people would enter an endless loo , knowing they could make money by selling stalls. one million shards would be spent on the tournament, many stalls would be sold to recoup that million, and the cycle would repeat
 
It's true that we can't entirely stop this, but we have already made the change for both Festival and LCR Voting that you can change your votes as often as you like until the election is over which may help somewhat with how votes are currently being bought.

There are criteria for voters specifically they need to be actively tagged. I think this should apply to Towns aswell. what I mean isnt necessarily in terms of activity but for instance unless something new is added and the build remains unchanged, the same build shouldnt be allowed to be used to host a second tournament.

thats whats happening rn with others who buy votes but silva doesnt appear to be interested in running a tourney, but they 100% could if they wanted to lol

Just isnt gonna help with how votes are as it was only proxima and vexter paying people (the 2 worst looking tournaments btw) and they both came 2nd so the only thing this will do is make it easier to scam the people who pay for votes where the main town that does this cant run again but then you also have riverside hosting a planetminecraft slop tourney. Atp just spin a wheel or something
