I propose a new rule or feature that prevents new towns from using another current town's banner pattern.

For example, Sylvis uses the same banners.

Also why would we want to copyright banners.

When there are two banners next to each other in the banner room with no affiliation and no name sign next to them, it is hard to establish which is which, and kinda not cool to steal someone else's design.

I'm not against this per se, but we would probably only prevent exact matches and there are plenty of ways to make a banner that looks pretty close to whatever you want to copy.
