Implemented /Trade (name)

Because new players won't know about trade, may choose to drop items to trade and then if they're stolen from they're 100% SOL.

From a pure scale standpoint, it may be beneficial not to allow dropping items at spawn anyway due to the potential sheer scale of players that might be running around spawn one day.
alot of players know what is /trade (name) im pretty sure plus you can waste staff's time on that and if there is no staff online your stuff is maybe gone

Make it similar to how mineclub does it where you can drop items in spawn but there's a timer for the dropper to pick it back up in case someone comes to try and steal it. I think it's stupid how an item left at spawn unattended like an arrow can technically be counted as spawn stealing. I'd also much rather /trade someone their shulkers I've kept for them or a big sum of money in exchange for a lore sword, so both parties can see what they're recieving. Wouldn't hurt to add something to preview shulkers as well.

I think this would be great but I don't think it makes sense to remove the no spawn stealing rule. Using a plugin like this would result in less spawn stealing occurring without having to remove the rule. This makes it so players don't have to worry. I still think that spawn should be a safe-haven for players.

The idea here is that with the re-introduction of the plugin and the disabling of dropping in spawn, there would be literally no way for players to have their items taken from them without their consent. Thereby eliminating the need for a spawn stealing rule and our intervention.

That's valid

It received such a bad reaction (because people lazy and dropping is quicker) that we had to remove it and revert back to what we currently have. From our point of view, we would like to re-add this so we can remove the spawn stealing rule and reduce staff time wasted dealing with these issues.

I think the main difficulty is that there's the trade-off of entirely losing the ability to drop stuff at spawn and making new players use something which might feel like hassle.

I don't know how doable this option would be but what if instead of only bring able to type the command to start the trader players could hit other players to send a trade request?

I think if it's going to 100% be disabling dropping items at spawn making the trade system easy to use and something that is suggested to the players via tips when they attempt to drop stuff is definitely needed (although this probably should've been done either way). It also needs to be intuitive enough to where our international community (Non English Speakers) can understand the GUI easily.

Although koi's suggestion was hitting players, I think a good way to do this is to activate /trade when you drop stuff at someone and be able to exit and re-enter the GUI at your leisure until you've both hit a complete button (so you can type to one another). I think another really good idea would be to allow people to click on shulkers within a trade to see the items inside. This would be amazing to make sure you're getting what you asked for.

Above all it needs to be quick and easy, and I think it can probably be the same speed (maybe even a bit faster) than dropping items to people if you can initiate a trade via dropping stuff at people.

so its a no
No it’s a, “if it’s added, it needs tooltips for new people, and the ability to drop items at spawn needs to be removed.”

since the whole reason we would be adding it is to get rid of the spawn stealing rule. If we add a plugin to trade items at spawn, why would we then continue to spend time on spawn stealing issues that could be completely negated, allowing us to handle other issues/projects.
