If you're coming from UnholyMC, we wanted to give you an official and hearty Welcome to Loka!
We're sad to hear that Unholy was being closed down, as it was a great server with a lot of fun stuff going on and planned for the future. I understand it sucks for players losing a good Earth server, we're thrilled to have Sayre/Ringo forward you guys to Loka!
As Sayre mentioned in his announcement, Loka is indeed unlike any normal factions/towny/earth server you're used to and we understand that our server is quite a bit to take in. It just so happens that Loka is in the process of revamping our New Player Experience. Having players come from a place like UnholyMC is actually really valuable as we can learn a lot about the kinds of expectations you guys have about a MC server. Players with a fresh take on the server without knowing how it works gives us raw feedback on how players feel about their first minutes, hours, and days on the server.
We do have a pretty solid, and ever-updating Wiki, but considering Loka does make some changes to Vanilla Minecraft, a good starter-page on Loka would probably be this one:
A run-down of many of the direct Vanilla changes on Loka:
So what we'd love to ask of you is to keep us posted with the kinds of complaints, confusions, or dropoff points that you got stuck on and use our Reporting Feature (/report in-game) to tell us where you got stuck or confused. We're doing our best to help guide new players around Loka's deep and rich systems, so that we can do our best job of onboarding new players.
Loka is a very welcoming community and our players are more than happy to answer questions you have in public chat, on Discord, or here on the forums. Don't hesitate to ask and, as you'll hear a lot from me (our trademark slogan)...
Go Forth!

Vanilla Changes
We generally try to keep things somewhat close to Vanilla Minecraft in terms of gameplay mechanics and features. However, to achieve the type of systems on Loka that we desire, we frequently change the way the game works. Listed below are all of the tweaks/changes to your normal Vanilla...
