Wemb for Slicer

Slicer
Wemb is easily one of the most experienced and consistently friendly players on Loka. It’s genuinely disappointing that he still isn’t a Slicer. I know he isn't in guide chat 24/7 but that isn't what makes a Slicer.

I know he said something mean to an admin nearly a decade ago, but seriously… get over yourselves already. It’s been ten years. This is a block game, not a lifelong grudge match. 1782592054005.webp

Wemb has been around so long that half the people who used to argue with him have already quit, rejoined, quit again, and become “old players” themselves.

He’s consistently friendly, experienced, and somehow still here after everyone else disappeared into the void.

But unfortunately, after careful review, we have determined he is not qualified to be a Slicer because he does not sit in guide chat 24/7 answering “how do I claim land” for the 900th time.

Even worse, he still asks questions sometimes, which is apparently illegal for someone who has played the server for ten years.

Truly tragic. A veteran player, helpful community member, and long-standing Loka citizen… but denied because he doesn’t meet the sacred quota of guide chat yapping. -1

Couldn't agree more 💯🔥

Being a Slicer has never been about camping guide chat 24/7 answering the same 3 questions 😭💀 It's about being someone the community respects, trusts, and enjoys having around 🤝❤️

🙏 People change, people grow 📈✨ Wemb has more than earned the chance.

Massive +1 from me 👑🫡❤️🔥

I completely agree with this. A Slicer's value shouldn't be measured solely by how often they're active in guide chat, but by their overall experience, maturity, and how they interact with the community. Wemb has consistently shown that they're knowledgeable, approachable, and willing to help others, which are the qualities that actually matter in the role. Holding something against someone from nearly a decade ago, especially over something so minor, seems unreasonable when they've clearly had plenty of time to grow. People change, and staff decisions should reflect who someone is today, not who they were years ago.

Hey everyone,

Just a quick heads-up for newer players and anyone who hasn’t learned the hard way yet: do not say the word "M*Dona**s" (or any variation) near Wemb.

The man instantly transforms into full KGB mode - interrogations, dramatic accents, sudden accusations of espionage, the whole bit. It’s hilarious the first time, but it can derail whatever you were doing pretty quickly.

You’ve been warned. Play nice and keep the golden arches out of chat when he’s around.

+1 me and jake throwing down on the grill to celebrate for this
Burgers are sizzling, hot dogs are rolling, and the neighborhood can probably smell the victory from three blocks away. We've got the lawn chairs out, music blasting, and enough food to feed half the server because a moment like this deserves a proper cookout. This is one of those occasions where you don't just say congratulations—you fire up the grill and make a whole event out of it. Fully deserved.

First, I want to sincerely thank everyone who is taking the time to leave their opinions on this nomination, whether they're positive or negative. I genuinely appreciate the honesty. Support means a lot, but constructive criticism is just as valuable because it gives me the opportunity to reflect and continue improving.

I've been a part of this community for over nine years, and throughout that time I've experienced both the highs and the lows. I've made mistakes in the past, and I won't pretend otherwise, but those experiences have helped me grow into the person I am today.

A big part of that growth has come from my job as a janitor. It's taught me responsibility, patience, humility, and professionalism—qualities that I carry with me both in-game and in everyday life.

After being here for so long, I feel like I've naturally become one of the veteran players in the community. While I may not always be active in Guide Chat, I'm constantly answering private messages from players who need advice or have questions. Most of the help I provide happens behind the scenes, and that's perfectly fine with me. I don't help people because I'm looking for recognition—I do it because I care about the community and want to help newer players avoid the same mistakes I made years ago.

I truly believe I'd be a great fit for the Slicer role. I've dedicated over nine years to this community through its ups and downs, and I want to continue giving back in a more meaningful way. Regardless of the outcome, I appreciate everyone who is taking the time to read this nomination and share their thoughts.

+1, I also love McDonalds.

I do also think that there's been a lot of unnecessary comments in this thread though. SV lock in!
