**THERES A TLDR IN COMMENTS FOR ROTTED BRAINS**
(I apologise in advance if this doesn't make a lot of sense I'm typing off of the top of my head while the idea is still fresh)
I recently had this cool idea which I think can help increase the community within Loka, first I'd like to start with what made me start to think about this idea in the first place which I think is that even though Loka is seeing a undeniable increase is playerbase, I don't think those players are actual members of the community but instead just log-ons/recruits with the actual community on Loka being rather consistent with the actual players that have been on the server for a while, for example recurring players.
This I think is a heavily underrated problem within the community as players are seeing the numbers grow but not actually thinking a lot about it, the older players have brought bulk players onto the server for wars but not actually had them play after such fights, this means that when the older players do leave or become relatively inactive or stop playing, the recruits will also stop playing and there will be a heavy decline in the player base as groups of older players leave because the recruits weren't properly integrated into the server outside of wars.
I don't think this used to be a problem, in fact I'd say before 2023 (purely just a guess) a lot of the recruits being brought onto the server were properly integrating and become members of the community, this is because I feel that the community had a lot more "characters" so to speak, like people who would actively try to get you involved and were notable within the community and I think these players are what made recruits stick around, they would encourage recruits to play outside of wars instead of just saying afterwards "Thanks for showing up" and "You can log off now", these players had recruits (as I remember in 2022 because I used to be one) but had them play outside of wars, for example straight after wars I vividly remember group mining sessions so that no one had time to log off. This outside activity is what made players stick around which is the problem currently as I think recruiters are no longer doing it but instead just having them log-off, by allowing people to go to RI and mine, they're encouraged to play outside of wars, instead of the current recruits who are just made to be log-ons and are almost discouraged from doing extra stuff as town owners are almost scared to lose them because they're asking them to do more than what they thought was in store and numbers have been made to be so important because if one alliance mass recruits, another has to as well to contest them, again forgive me if this doesn't make much sense this might just be the senseless ramblings of me.
What I think can be done to fix this problem.
I think we can all agree that there needs to be more outside of just PvP on Loka, especially intriguing stuff that makes players not just want to play wars, while RI is something recruits should be encouraged to do, its not especially intriguing. Thus, I think the next major update on Loka shouldn't be anything directly PvP related but instead a new continent that purely goes into PvE, towns wouldn't be able to be made on this continent and there wouldn't be any tiles. Rather it would be a red tag continent with many more mobs which drop good loot and bosses that roam the continent, the further you go into the continent, the more difficult the mobs become, like having strength or speed at a certain point/threshold but also dropping better loot, like pot mats and the such. Bosses would drop rare trims which I believe is especially intriguing for any player as customizability is evidently a big part of loka, for example the popularity of treasure knifes. There would be custom structures with good loot deep within the continent. Players are encouraged to go deeper for better loot but at the risk of losing everything because of it being a red-tag, high risk, high reward. Bosses wouldn't just be strong but instead would require cooperation, unlike the Witch Hunter which I feel, while is a cool boss and a step in the right direction, leans to much into "just being strong" instead of cool features that actually NEED players, for example like you must step on pressure plates at one point and thus more than one person is needed. I know the analogy may sound cringey to some, but I almost look at the idea similar to the Dark Continent in Hunter x Hunter or one of the Game Of Thrones continents that are thriving with strong mobs.
I feel this fixes the problem because now not only players are encouraged to play outside of wars, it also introduces the potential for a completely new player base and attract people to the server, players are forced to group up and go explore together and town members are kind of forced to ask recruits to log onto the server outside of just wars so that they can have more people to go onto the continent with and attempt to explore as far as possible with a large group, now not only would recruits be introduced to the server with just wars but instead see a different side of the community with this PvE expansion, while the continent is a red tag and PvP may look like a prevalent option, its almost innately discouraged as you can't afford to waste resources on such a dangerous continent. While the older players that were recruits were kind of introduced into more aspects of the server through town owners forcing us to grind on RI, this would allow the newer playerbase/recruits to have a much greater introduction to more aspects through this new continent, encouraging activity and not being reliant on whenever a town places.
I acknowledge this would be a incredible amount of work and would take a large amount of time but I think seeing the updates that Loka has already implemented, it wouldn't be impossible and I imagine the playerbase would be more than happy to see slower updates knowing that one as important and as large as this is in the works.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense at times, I'm just typing as I think. Please do give me any feedback to this idea and I'd love to hear the communities thoughts and especially the thoughts of the staff at Loka. Thanks for reading.
