i think the rule for wintrading being removed makes Perfect sense and should never come back but wintrading IMO is still decently viable and Disgusting and should be nuked to the ground thru strength mechanics.
if u asked me i would think the best way to implement this is by adding a debuff for when a town loses multiple times to another. if town X places five attacks on town Y and loses every single one, town Y should no longer gain strength or use defenses from defending and winning against town X. even if towns started to strength staircase eachother, they'd all get eventually debuffed and if town X wins against town Y once, the wintrading pretty much cancels out each other. the constraints of the idea can be changed and there should be harsher ones for balak as it uses a different strength system but i fail to see on how it could be abusable in anyway. not a perfect solution but it'd make it way harder to wintrade.
another LOT more controversial and IDK if it'd be good but having it so if a town mercs and the ally disbands, the town itself wouldn't be able to place on their continent even with completely unlocked ppl. i don't like this idea myself but the point is that it's a way that can nerf Wintrading bc avoiding fights === bad
it really shouldn't be possible for a continental ally to legitimately be allowed to reduce their vuln to 2h 1m through 0 strength towns wasting defenses and something needs to change before something like that eventually happens
