Dogs and cats cannot go through town portals. It is very difficult to transport pets across thousands of blocks. I think pets should be considered members of their owner's town. This would allow them to use town portals. A lot of people want pets, but cannot easily bring them to their town. This could also motivate people to participate in conquest.
