Hello to the Loka Community and Staff Team,
I'm writing this in order to appeal the mute I got in 2023, around the Summer Season. The reason was for the hard R slur said by me in the Sand Force alliance ingame chat after the loss of a ranked game.
I won't attempt to deny it - I said something totally out of line. It was offensive, immature, and certainly not something that makes me proud. I came to discover Loka after being recruited from another server, which had very strict rules on racism and hate speech (permabans, blacklists etc). As a new player, I had heard rumors that Loka was very light on punishments of such, so I did not think twice before saying what I said, despite clearly not having read the server rules beforehand. I was impulsive, immature, and obviously not in my right mind at the time, but that's no excuse. I do understand now that saying that word, even in a private conversation, is blatantly hurtful and wrong.
It's now over two years later, and I've had plenty of time to reflect on it. I was very immature at the time, and I've come a long way since then. No one, not even the person who beat me in ranked, aside from a few people in the alliance chat, really read the message, but even then, if the action was apparently victimless, I now understand that harm can be done even through lack of visibility. I do regret what I said, and I entirely agree that it needed punishment. Having said that, I hope that you'll take into account the time that has passed and that I have learnt my lesson since then.
