Alliance Change Idea

Are things truly broken that we need to apply such a drastic change to the way conquest works? Cant we see how this game of RISK plays out for a while before we go and change the foundations of what it is as of right now?

You have had things this way for 2 months, and it has been a stalemate. Why encourage more of a stalemate?

Perhaps there could be a restriction on how many offensive t-gen battles a single player can take part in. Or maybe after x amount of offensive battles in one day, there is some kind of sanction (rewards decrease, or the player is weakened somehow (strength, speed and fire resistance pots stop working)). I'm not sure if this is feasible, but it might be done in lieu of restricting how many t-gens alliances can place. Here, alliances could place as many t-gens as they could if they were separate towns, but the offensive battle restriction for individuals would make it fair with the other towns.

I'm cool with trying something new and seeing if it works, however. Go for it. :)

Oh, I should point out that, while I would like more conquest battling, I don't want it to be a daily chore. Some others on the server likely feel the same way. We like time to build and explore and gather. This may be at the root of the conflict of perspectives in some of the debate in this thread.

Also, I wouldn't call it a stalemate. We only this month had a clear benefit from winning conquest. It is heating up, I believe. Let's see what happens up until the end of the month.

because of a couple of people that are new say its not fair, you should not have to change it

To not change something on Loka because the suggester is new to the server is absolutely no way to run a server. If somebody provides valid, constructive feedback about Loka and points out a flaw or imbalance in the server, it's worth addressing no matter who it comes from. Playing favorites for the veterans is a surefire way to keep Loka stagnant.

It's the new players that often think outside of the box, because they don't have years of 'well that's how it's always been' in their heads.

That's why I'm saying "you should not have to" meaning you are not forced to do so. I also agree with what you say I'm not a veteran but I have been playing for a while, but I'm saying I know where Alchemy is coming from :)

I seriously doubt Crypt had the foresight to accurately predict how this shiny new conquest format would play out in the long run. He's amazing, but not that amazing. He's still a person no matter how many times he runs "god" through a thesaurus to make a server alter-ego name. If the system is as unbalanced as everyone is saying, maybe come the new year we should wipe everything and rework it and release a new model, perhaps by February.

I'll have you know I've never once called myself god on the server before or any other real varation of the them aside from 'owner'. Those titles are frequently applied to me. Further, Skyman is actually what MrAlchemy's been calling me for quite some time, so I found it might be cheeky to talk from console as Skyman rather than as [Server].

Skyman is quite a good name, way better then boring old [Server]
