Obviously, Squid is my friend and has been for a long time, so I won’t pretend I’m not biased. That said, I think it’s important to consider how much time has passed since his ban. I’m not excusing what was said or done. some of it was inexcusable to say the least. But I know Squid on a more personal level than most people here do, and I’ve seen his growth firsthand.

He’s matured a lot, taken responsibility for his past actions, and put real effort into becoming a better person. I truly believe he’s changed and that, if given another chance, he could contribute positively to the community rather than harm it.

I wanted to share something powerful from the Talmud that always hits me hard, especially around themes of personal growth, second chances, and redemption. The Talmud in Yoma 86a-86b dives deep into the concept of Teshuvah (repentance/return), and one teaching in particular stands out to me regarding Archersquid.

Reish Lakish teaches: "Great is repentance, for it turns intentional sins into merits."

It's a radical message of hope: No one is defined forever by their worst moments. Through sincere reflection, regret, confession, making amends where possible, and real commitment to change, even our biggest failures can become building blocks for growth and holiness. It's not cheap grace, teshuvah demands real work, but the payoff is cosmic. Your story isn't fixed; it can be redeemed and elevated.

Shabbat shalom / whatever your weekend looks like 😊
