Suggestion Bring back old chat

Chat isn't something that is meant to be colorful. It should be visually pleasing and easy to read without any unnecessary bloat. The new chat greatly simplified and unified public chat to be more consistent with the way other visuals on Loka appear. Adding a legacy mode or returning to legacy chat would be nothing but counterproductive. However, if there are specific ways we could improve the new chat, please suggest those!

We also briefly talked about the potential for colorblind accessibility options in the last LCR meeting, and chat would almost certainly be included in this. We're aware that it's something that needs to be tackled.

but old chat was visually pleasing the current chat is far more colourful and its a weird colour at that it looks like guide chat and old chat even had more functionality cause it displayed who had subowner role with the green [ ] current chat just felt like a unnecessary down grade when you couldve just changed the settler/slicer/nomad parts of old chat into Public

Change the color of public and guide chat, the new colors are so unappealing to look at, Loka is such a colorful server and you guys chose some bland ass brown tones for the main chats the new designs arent bad but the colors just make it awful to look at

"It should be visually pleasing and easy to read without any unnecessary bloat."
So just the old chat? This chat isnt "visually pleasing" anyone and its considerably harder to read than it was before. Backwards step.

However a colorblind feature would be cool

Exactly, you just described the old chat, the new chat is NOT visually pleasing, if it was, people wouldnt be suggesting to get rid of it
And the old chat wasnt bloated either

To be fair, people suggest reverting changes whenever any changes are made to just about anything. The chat changes were intended to bring consistency across all chat and it was very much on purpose to reduce the amount of random bright colors that were misleading or not useful so we could better emphasize other messages in the future. Chat is always particularly sensitive, but change is sometimes necessary, even if not always enjoyed.

That said I agree with the sentiment(s) about public/guide being too similar. Meant to make them more distinct at the time but then irl

I like the way the chat looks currently. Though I do tend to mix up the colours of guide and local chat. I think guide chat should be a bit more distinct of a colour to differentiate it from the "regular" chats since it is more specialized (and maybe help with people not misusing the guide chat but that's a pet peeve of mine for a different topic). Maybe a soft purple? I'm no colour expert here just spitballing thoughts.

but like? the new chat is just more bright it went from white with maybe a hint of green with the [ to this ugly one and blue and purple and yellow? its literally just more bright colours whilst being uglier and stripping the identity out of it

whats so wrong with listening to the people for this one? if the overwhelming majority would like it reverted is it really that bad of an idea to change it back? Just because your staff likes doesnt mean you should stick with it. And its a simple aesthetic change not like some big pvp update 🫠

The staff (dev team) seem a bit too interested in developing things NOBODY asked for or wanted (new chat, deep dark). I don't understand why they don't just work on updating the things that NEED updating, like the end and nether and doing all the fun random stuff afterwards.

(SOME Staff clearly hate me enough as is, so I'm gonna make it clear that I am really enjoying the Deep Dark, but I believe there should have been priority in developing things elsewhere)

IMO the deep dark stuff was needed far more than the nether or end as atleast in the case of those 2, they had almost everything obtainable still unlike anything with the deep dark/amethyst or even the suspicious blocks you can now farm the nether does need a overhaul but everything is technically possible to obtain besides gilded blackstone ig and the end i mean the end is always a baron wasteland thats the point of that dimension and every end item is possible to obtain the only annoying thing is farming lots of purpur

"It should be visually pleasing" when I look at this chat, I want to put bleach in my eyes this new chat is genuinely taking the life out of the server it makes me mad depressed
