Ik this is a random rant, but I feel like this is the best way to speak about this server to the people who really do care and make the decisions round’ these parts.


It would be very hard to argue that our community hasn’t gone through the wringer within the past few weeks. I don’t want this post to be about all the kylaz stuff, but I DO want to take a stance on the “removal of slicer roles” rumor going around. I think it’s a reasonable idea to maybe review the activity of slicers to see if that still supports what a slicer is supposed to be. There are a lot of people with the role who haven't been active or made an effort to contribute in a meaningful way (the same goes for some staff members but that's for another day). However, I think doing this review right now is very poor timing when taking into consideration all the events that have transpired recently. I, along with others, find it hard to see this purge as anything other than our side of the community getting our slicer roles stripped away because some people tease the staff and have unpopular opinions compared to others. IK NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET, but I would be very disappointed to find out that the removal of this role is more of a "guilty by association" call rather than a "do they actually contribute and represent our community well?" What’s done is done, and I think instead of a purge, it would be amazing to quickly move on from this whole ordeal so we can focus on strengthening and growing our amazing server!

I LOVE LOKA. There’s a reason why me (and so many others) are still here even tho we are old. Even after all the banter and stupid complaints, we have stuck with this server through so many years and are STILL here wanting what's best for the community. Sure, you can argue that people weren’t expressing their opinions in the most appropriate way, but I think things might've escalated so much because we (the community) feel like our voices aren't being heard. I know some people have a bigger target on their backs, but this was a server-wide ordeal and involved a lot of people. This server is one of the greatest ever made. I will literally defend and glaze Loka til the day I die. Nothing will ever change that, but this stuff is all just really OD and unnecessary.

Maybe I'm blowing this all out of proportion. I know it's just a role and the world will keep spinning at the end of the day. Slicer is such a respected role because it's something that shows your dedication to the community and cannot be taken away from you. I just care a lot and I feel like this is silly. Forums were made for people to speak their minds, so I'd love to hear what y'all have to say. God forbid a white boy speaks his mind in the big 26!

It's questionable timing from an outsider perspective to be sure, but complaints about the quality of some Slicers (and our internal views are similar on the matter) have been going around and arguably getting worse for years. Purge sounds bad, sure, but the evaluation is on a per-player basis.

The way I would look at it is that we're doing some hard soul searching on how we can take a look at the community as a whole. The staff meeting was about a specific player but it raised other issues that we're taking looks at as well. Slicer is supposed to mean something and I think it's clear a lot of folks don't believe it does anymore.
 
Are the evaluations done by just elders and guardians?

I think the question people are asking is if this would even be occurring without the recent events that transpired. We cant help but wonder if this is just a reaction to a certain group of players (jakeman and friends) being upset about something that was being overlooked by the staff. Yes, people could have gone about it differently and been a bit more cordial but this was something that a lot of people felt was being ignored when it needed to be addressed and handled accordingly.

the staff said they themselves crypt overlooked it they just didnt say anything publicly but clearly did in staff chats. we arent in staff chats so only place to make ourselves heard is in the loka discord. for a situation like this to not respons sooner would make anyone mad because most of us at this point dont play other minecraft servers than loka. we are committed to this community

yes just elders and guardians so there is some clear misrepresentation in it and we probably will see when it comes out that most of the inactive players will keep their roles but active players wont. certain youtubers or famous people will probably also stay even though they dont log on.

furthermore that certain player that you guys spoke about(jakeman) doesnt represent our opinions. there is a reason why the rest of us didnt say anything. jakeman is his own person with his own voice. to group us with him during your staff votes is crazy. most of the staff guardians taking their votes on this dont know this or have their assumptions about us already made. wemb is one of the longest standing players and has clearly matured since when he first played. he doesnt speak in guide chat but he is known within the community and many know that he is a sweet soul but to deny him of slicer and give it players who most dont know and joined in 2025 is also crazy.
 
Just execute me and move on. I promise you bro ts ain’t that serious. Also my reactions are just from the colossal mishandling of the entire situation. Do better.

Edit: I have done more for the community than 90% of the staff team so I really don’t want to hear it.

Ahoy ye scallywags and salty sea dogs, I know this be a right random rant and perhaps too much grog be spillin’ from me cup but I reckon this be the finest place fer speakin’ to the captains and quartermasters what truly care about this here server and make the grand decisions round these waters because it’d take a mutinous fool to deny that our crew’s been dragged through storms fiercer than the devil’s own whirlpool these past weeks and while I ain’t lookin’ to chart another course through all that Kylaz business I do wish to hoist me flag on this whole rumor of slicer roles bein’ sent to Davy Jones’ Locker because aye I can understand inspectin’ the old crew and seein’ who still earns their keep since there be plenty o’ sailors wearin’ the colors who haven’t so much as swabbed the deck or hauled a rope in ages and the same could be said fer a handful o’ officers but that be a tale fer another voyage entirely yet I reckon choosin’ this very moment to start tossin’ folk overboard be poorer timin’ than sailin’ straight into a hurricane because after all that’s happened it be mighty difficult fer me and many another soul aboard to see this as anythin’ but our side o’ the fleet gettin’ their colors stripped because some o’ the lads enjoy a bit o’ playful cannon fire at the admirals and happen to hold opinions that don’t sail with the current and aye aye I know not a blasted thing has happened yet and maybe all this be nothin’ more than sea fog but if this role starts disappearin’ I’d be sorely disappointed if the reason be guilt by association instead o’ whether a sailor truly contributes to the voyage and carries themselves as a proper representative o’ the crew because what’s done be done and I’d sooner patch the hull and catch a favorable wind than spend another fortnight arguin’ over driftwood when we could be buildin’ this magnificent vessel into an even grander flagship fer every soul aboard because by Neptune’s beard I LOVE LOKA and there be a reason why old salts like meself and countless others still haunt these docks after all these years because through every squall every broadside every ridiculous complaint every bit o’ banter every mutiny that never was we’ve stayed loyal to this ship and we still stand here wantin’ nothin’ but the very best fer the whole crew and aye perhaps some folk could’ve spoken with a smoother tongue and fewer cannonballs but maybe the reason tempers flared hotter than a powder magazine be because many o’ us felt like our voices were driftin’ out to sea unheard and I know there be certain pirates with bigger targets painted on their backs than others but this weren’t the tale of one sailor or one crew this be a storm what swept across the whole fleet and this server be one o’ the greatest treasures ever buried and I’ll defend and glaze Loka till the seas dry up and the moon falls into the ocean because nothin’ will ever change that though this whole affair feels more overblown than a sail in a gale and more unnecessary than bringin’ an anchor to a swimmin’ contest and perhaps I be makin’ mountains out o’ molehills and maybe it truly be just a fancy role and the tides’ll keep risin’ and fallin’ regardless but slicer be a badge o’ honor respected across the seven seas because it marks years o’ loyalty and dedication and be somethin’ every sailor believed couldn’t simply be snatched away on a whim and perhaps I care too much but blast me if I don’t think the whole thing be sillier than a parrot givin’ navigation lessons and the forums were built fer speakin’ yer mind so by thunder I’d love to hear what the rest o’ ye barnacle-covered buccaneers have to say because God forbid a white cabin boy speaks his mind in the grand year o’ twenty-six arrrrr.
 
People on the staff team dislike jake because he takes a comedic approach at serious topics. I think us as players are just so over the constant back and fourth with the staff team on a server that averages 50 players when theres no fighting. No offence, but this is way more serious than it needs to be and nuking slicers like jake who actually help the server in many ways just because he presses you guys on staff stuff (good for him, holding yall accountable) is crazy. Same with sigmaflash. Sigma is such a helpful player yet people who just dont like him downvote him. I'm quite baffled that tryh4rdd who probably hasnt typed in chat in years although i love the guy has upvotes and sigmaflash doesn't. Its become a popularity vote and thats quite rediculous

Working in the corporate world for several years has taught me many things but at the forefront of all those lessons is that leadership starts top down, not the other way around.

If you think there is an inherent problem with slicers then you shouldn't try to solve that with just purging all players that don't live up to your popularity contest. You should evaluate why YOU as a leader let it get to the point to where these players that used to be the gold standard for Lokans fell out of your staff team's favor. (hint: it isn't the behavior of slicers)

Moving responsibility away from yourself and your staff is laughable. The standards for the staff team have decreased exponentially over the years all the while now the expectations of the players is to not banter, shit talk, curse, express themselves, make light of any situation, criticize anyone, have different political beliefs. Hell, all criticism of the staff team is now met with silencing. You are becoming a fascistic entity. Time to look inward.
