Suggestion More In Depth Permissions for Towns

At the moment towns have the ability assign members levels and have zones owned by particular players along with said zones only being able to be manipulated by the owner and those with the correct level. Although reasonably sufficient I think it'd be a good thing to break permissions within zones down even further, for example there have been scenarios in which i create a building that I would like people to access but not be able to edit such as an industry building that I want people to be able to empty but not destroy any blocks of. At the moment I would have to trust members to not edit the structures or handle it if it happens but I think being able to add more in depth permissions would allow owners to better future proof their towns from town betrayal or general accidents. Examples of Permissions that I can think of are:
  • Locking Unlocking Doors
  • Locking Unlocking Trapdoors
  • Locking Unlocking Fence Gates
  • Use of Redstone (levers buttons etc each activatable could be it's own permission but this may be overkill)
  • Placing and removing blocks
  • Accessing Barrels?(I haven't used the brewing plugin but permission' of these might allow brewers to have practical and ornamental brewing kit where people can see it)
Without being specified these permissions for the zone would obviously default to the level zone and owner being the only ones able to effect each area.
Redstone Would probably still be able to be affected by raiders though i'm not sure how often this makes a town raid-able or whether we still want to consider raiders when making changes.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I've thought about this subject before and I have to say that from my view point the best and most logical way to place this into Loka would just to be to tie it into the town levelling system as most town permissions groups are granted while the town levels up I believe this should be tied into that quite well to say the least.

This would be extremely useful for making towns more friendly to the player base as I believe that the easier it becomes for a town to customise their settings in reference to zones the easier it is to recruit more members.

Great idea Gibon, it's an interesting idea that I'm sure the majority of players that own towns could appreciate.

It'd likely unlock no different than the town zoning, in that you can start doing it at the same time you unlock zoning/member levels. Not sure we'd tie it into town levels/perks differently necessarily.

Either way this would be pretty trivial to implement. I'm not sure if I'd separate out the different locking-blocks, as opposed to just doing something like /g zone lock 3 to flag any lockable in that zone to member level 3+.

The reason why I view it as an better way to allow the players to slowly gain access over these new hypothetical commands over time is because I believe that just giving them all at once would perhaps dump to much info on the players at once. If these commands were given over the course of certain levels it allows for progression, better understanding of the commands and more possibilities for owners to plan with in reference to town builds e.g. casinos, certain machines and such.

This all being said that this is incredibly trivial for anyone who doesn't immediately have a use or is inclined to use it because to the average new town owner it's pretty lack lustre.

The Reason that I thought to separate things like Trapdoors and Doors is that it would allow things such as covering chests you don't want certain levels to access with trap doors while still allowing them into the area.

At that point I would advocate being able to either do a zone-wide lock level, or just be able to literally flag specific blocks as level-locked.
