To recap what happened. You were both in a call with a banned player. That banned player joined the server on an alt account and you were both aware of it. You then proceeded to invite him to each of your towns, and he joined them. At no time did you report it or distance yourself from the player, instead you did the opposite and directly interacted with him. Whether it was 'obvious' that it was an alt or not does not play a part in the discussion.

On the 17th of December, we made an announcement post making it very clear we will no longer be tolerant of this kind of behaviour. It is important we come down hard on this and punish those who are 'associates' of ban evaders. Other than losing the chance of appealing, ban evaders face little to no repercussions. So in order to discourage this kind of behaviour, we need to punish the 'associates'.

I understand from your perspectives it seems harsh, but your lack of previous rule breaks is what reduced the punishment to just 1 week. Your actions were stupid and regardless of whether there was malice the punishment will stand. Dealing with ban evasions wastes our time that we could be spending on things that benefit the entire player base. Just because they are not trying super hard to deceive us does not make it any more acceptable.
