  • Due to some issues with the old pvp server, we've moved to a Brand New PvP Server which so far has performed seemingly extremely well. The new server is located in Chicago, IL which should assist those living in Canada.

PvP Queueing
  • Introduced a much easier and fancier /pvp menu, ala talents, etc. This is your one-stop page for both queueing for 1v1, 2v2, Vota, and Overload as well as seeing the number of players queued for each.
  • Old commands will work for the time being (/queue, /bg2 queue). But I presume /pvp is going to be easier for everyone.

  • Sword Damage talent has been changed to a 10% flat damage increase instead of the Sharpness 1 enchant
  • Lunge cooldown increased to 30 seconds up from 20
  • Explosive Arrow cooldown increased to 15 seconds up from 10
  • Bow Damage talent's enchant has been increased to Power II up from Power I

PvP
  • Added a variety of custom sound effects in PvP matches. Ensure you have Server Textures On in order to hear them.

  • The PvP Sound pack is no longer based on replacing minecraft sounds but are now customa dded sounds. Hopefully this means returning to Loka doesn't get you stuck with sounds of creeper deaths being replaced by explosions, etc.

  • Many abilities were getting effects from Thorns return damage, those have all been fixed. This should result in less random damage, fires, etc going on.
  • Resolve now properly cancels knockback effects including Explosive Arrow and Breathing Room
  • Blast Protection should now properly halve knockback effects

  • Towers' beacon blocks should restore now after a round is finished so you can once again see which towers have and have not been destroyed.
  • Reduced/updated some of the match alert notifications/sounds.
  • Some landscaping has been done (thanks to Leasaur, Artagan, and IdkKhev) to help smooth out the terrain and make it less of a hassle to run around on.

  • The side scoreboard has been updated to reflect score as well as current artifact controlling team so you can always see who holds what. This is at the cost of seeing the number of players per team, but tab can still show you that.

The Archery talent tree has just been revamped to make it more viable. Here are the updates to the tree:

  • Explosive Arrow has been moved to the 5th tier and now replaces what was Quick Draw. Additionally, Explosive arrow does more damage, applies some concussion effects and, if it hits a player directly, does double-damage.
  • The Infinity Bow talent has been removed and replaced with Frost Trap. This lays a trap on the ground with a temporary visual indicator. After placing it, any enemy that passes over it will activate it incurring a heavy slow and minor poison damage. This will affect multiple people if they're all within close proximity to the trap upon activation. Cooldown 20 seconds; you can only have one trap active at a time. Presently, they don't expire, but probably will.
  • In place of Explosive Arrow in the 3rd tier, a new passive ability Groove has been added. Groove adds a stacking damage buff to arrow shots with each successful arrow hit on an enemy. The stack increases damage by 10% with each successful hit up to 40% and reduces by 10% for each arrow missed.

Don't forget, you can head to the Proving Grounds (/pvp) to try out the changes!

  • Talent-based achievements can no longer be earned in the Proving Grounds. Those are meant to be earned in "real battle"

  • Frost Trap will fail to place if the player is not standing on a solid block.

  • Spectating has returned. in the /pvp menu, select the glass icon to spectate matches. Once one is available to watch, you will be prompted to watch.
  • The Tab list in arenas no longer shows players on the PvP servers for those in an active match. Instead it now shows you some of your pvp statistics as well as the number of spectators.

Spectating Battlegrounds is coming soon.

Can I make a request we don't get spectating battlegrounds? It seems like your fabulous talents would be better used implementing something else.

Unless there's some reason you find it wouldn't be a good idea (other than the time it would take me to do it), it's not a biggie. Spectating battlegrounds really wouldn't take me much more than probably a half hour to implement and I feel it might be good for new players to the server to be able to do if they wanted to get a feel for how a BG works without having to play one.

The disadvantage would be a potential to provide an advantage to a team through a spectator. A spectator could scope out areas to see where enemies are, etc. I guess a way around this would be constantly tping spectators around based on if they are in LoS of members of both teams, or near a player in combat.

  • Updated tooltips on many talents that were missing vital information (mostly Requirement text). Should now be legibly obvious why you can't pick up a talent if you do not have the pre-requisite.

  • Explosive Arrrow's direct-hit damage is now calculated after Groove and should properly do more damage.
  • Freezing Trap now has a visual particle effect that only the trap owner can see to help distinguish its location after the pressure plate visual disappears.

Tab Lists
  • The Proving grounds tab list now shows players in the grounds.
  • Tab List for Battlegrounds has been fixed and now shows players in the battleground separated by team and soon to be sorted by score during a match.
