Server Texture-Pack

I did, I said it looks like it came from an 8-bit game :p

You know which style we're going for from the old versions you made and we were nearly agreed on everything. Mag just wanted armor changed and I requested the brick changes.

No need to change half the pack. :s

I agree with Zor for the most part.

I prefer the old weapon looks, the new ones seem a little weird, and tougher to pick out at a glance.

The new glass's "brown" lining is odd, I think what you had with the old stuff works.

The thing with dirt and gravel is that it's the only two blocks where suddenly things are made of a cellular, blob-like pattern and when you see the two next to other common blocks like stone, they look way out of place.

Bookshelves are a little dull too.

Obsidian looks more like soul-sand.

Actual soul sand looks out of place too; if you're gonna put skulls in it, they need to be real subtle. It still needs to look like sand after all.

However I actually quite like the nether brick. Perhaps it could be a little redder to match the nether, but not much.

Netherrack looks a little too much like shale or some other limestone-like rock when it really probably oughta stay otherworldly.

Those are my views.

I believe what we're going for is semi-realistic that stays close to vanilla and has a rustic/ancient feel to it. It can't be too dark either.

Iron blocks are too dark, glass doesn't show up in inventory very well
I personally, like them like this, give spawn a really great look, nice contrast with the yellower sandstone.

On the other hand, please make the cake a little less plain?

Beacons need a slight adjustment. What is that thing in the middle supposed to be?

I dunno, I havent really tweeked this yet, just kinda bumped all the upgrades from the dokucraft pack and added em to the old 1.3.2 pack I made.

I'll work on it a bit more after I get back from lunch

So this pack is now very out of date, but since the changes to texture packs in 1.5 some of it still works. From what I've noticed biome coloring and mob skins are still what Alchemy selected. IMO it looks really nice, but do we want to continue in our quest for a server texture pack? If so I can work on it and maybe try out the new animated textures.
