Server Texture-Pack

Not sure if its only me getting this problem, but netherrack has become water and lava has become some other weird block. Basically the nether is like an ocean. :?
 
OMG Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I havent even stepped into the nether since I made this pack. Hrmmm. I'll have it fixed in an hour or so.

I really like it, but have a few things im not too keen on. My first reaction when using it was that wood was too dark (oak) i think it should be far lighter and i did find a few other blocks like stone was very dark.(dark blocks in default should remain dark and light blocks in default should remain light, so buildings made with either texture work the same) Also sandstone doesn't work in buildings as the outlines of the block break up the building at every block. My favourite block so far is glowstone, looks really nice.
 
Many of the textures in the pack are made for the new "connected textures" option optifine and mcpatcher give you.

I'll lighten the wood in photoshop and repost the texture.png

Anything else? I can edit/modify this pack until it feels just perfect with ya'lls help!

Only played with it briefly (digging the dokucraft base theme :D). The only two things that struck me off the bat was that the ends of torches being pure-white or yellow or whatever was kinda distracting and iirc dirt was too orange.
 
I must say that I really like the effects from explosions... But I will continue using default.

Per the advice I've received so far I've tweeked the pack with these changes:
1- Wool is in a single style,
2- Dirt is browner,
3- Stone/cobble/stonebricks have been brightened,
4- New art section compliments of yours truly!
5- Brightened oak textures,
6- Changed the torches

Keep pumping me with advice and I'll keep perfecting it.

I assume that you'll make potions look awesome?
 
You dont have to make all the changes i have suggested, i still love the pack (best bits are the plants, ores, paintings, enchanting table) ive just been going through it very carefully and found the following things i would change:

- Snowgolem need faces
- not sure i like bonemeal texture
- dispenser texture seems to be broken
- not keen on the chests (might be the green, not sure)
- maybe make glowstone lamps a bit more different form glowstone
- ice too white (looks too much like snow)
- snow texture on side of dirt covers too much of block so it looks odd when next to grass block
- White wool is still odd
- dont like pine wood (wood, not planks) (should be more vertical lines, rather than looking like oak)
- iron block should be far whiter and lighter
- not sure i like gold block
- dont like pick axe or sheers
- moss stone and chiselled stone brick are odd
- End stone is too white
- dont like soul sand or gravel
- sponge isnt sponge
- glass isnt quite right, lines of it look odd and panes aren't quite right (glass needs working on)
- slimes are ugly, make them cute!!!
- pigs should be pink
- oak wood planks should look more like birch ones (lighter), and make birch ones lighter and more white
- i am still unsure of stone halfsteps
- has enderchest texture changed?
 
A few more things:

- cake is too red
- not sure about armor (might just be me)
- not keen on rail
- i like the cobble and stone brick textures but they are too similar
- more texture for stone, is too plain, on whole building looks odd (more of an outline maybe)
- Change torch animation, looks like torches go out then come on again and torches look odd as an item.
 
I really like the majority of the mob skins but perhaps change cows/mooshrooms and pigs? The pigs are now boars which will offend most of the pig worshipers and mooshrooms are now walking american flags.

Edit: Ah, it's because the red mushroom item is now blue. Looks great in the nether. Really.

Already mentioned but the potion bottles are very small which makes it difficult to tell which is which without mousing over all of them.

Opinions on mossy cobble?

Netherwart is very pale when planted but the item is more of a blood red. I like the blood red better.

Chiseled stone brick is just a darker version of mossy cobble (I don't like either).

Stone slabs look very industrial and are out of place with the other more rustic looking slabs.

I think the wool would look better if it were in the style of white wool rather than the checkered pattern for all colored
wool.

Is end stone now marble? I like it, but opinions on that too?

Stone is very plain like Mag said but if you change it don't forget to change the ores as well.

You might want to check the dispenser texture...

Tall grass seems a bit off. Maybe make it a bit taller?

Maybe its just me, but the water is a little too green during the day. At night it looks better. Especially above ground water looks like a chlorinated pool.
 
Glass and glass panes are missing.

Soul sand... maybe a bit less graphic.

I cry every time I see gravel.
