I think that going forwards people shouldn’t be able to persuade people or bribe people to vote for their tournament. It turns the voting into a pay to win session. Where in my opinion it should be the nicest looking town/arena.

It demotivates the town which builds really nice looking tournaments just to lose to towns who pay people to vote for them all.

I don’t know how this can be prevented but could it possibly be looked into. So the rich don’t get richer and other towns have an opportunity.

If we are being honest with ourselves the best looking tournament never wins only in rare cases. Also this is a good shard sink.

it just cant be prevented cause most of this happens on discord and i dont exactly believe the staff would want to have to screenshare every single person who votes to see if they got persuaded voting just cant function like that if it was based on the "Best build" it would also be just really difficult to tell whats the best build every video does the equivalent of putting make up on with the best shaders and lightning to show its best features and will attempt to hide the stuff that doesnt mesh well or even show the full picture

also what would count as persuasion if a friend dms me "vote for my tournament" is that persuasion even though id vote for them anyway like all removing persuasian would do is turn it more into a popularity contest where the town with the largest members would win the vote which im noticing the town that has the most members in this tournament cycle is the one complaining the most about this topic

Tournament voting should be removed entirely, and there should be impartial Judges selected to judge quality of builds and proposed tournies, preferrably Elders. but yea at the very least players advertising giving money for votes probably shouldn't be a thing

hard disagree everyone has a bias internally thats just basic psychology and even then people in the elder team are parts of towns and making them vote for example like Raddus if he voted for SV tournament people would call it corrupt cause hes heavily linked to SV if it was closed voting its a community tournament the community should decide, if the elders did or even just guardians and elders it would make people very angry every few months calling corruption.

erm well judging by the fact it was riverside 1 and proxima 2 i cant really say its year after year for those 2 towns, also you do realise with that system he suggested asgard would be more likely to be picked right? 7deevil runs the tournament side of the server with foxy and is obviously good with the elders as hes a long time guardian, everyone no matter who you are has a bias it may not be a strong one or not but basic psychology is if your presented with 2 choices and have have to go off of your subjective opinion you will more than likely vote for your friend rather than a random person or someone you dislike paying for votes is a bad system but making it so the elders choose would just make the entire community furious if a build they didnt want doesnt win

but they just wouldnt this is the issue when you hand stuff to a very few of people to decide, this is when bias becomes much stronger and i know cryptite and foxy wouldnt be intentionally bias but again you cant prevent bias in a SUBJECTIVE matter, there is no right or wrong answer for a tournament build being decided people prefer styles and Cryptite would have a bias towards medieval builds which means that would be the meta and not including underlying bias's with friends that again you cant prevent no matter who you are. and yes the top one is preferable it shows what the COMMUNITY wants which is the point of the COMMUNITY festival, here is a link to the official festival page https://forums.lokamc.com/threads/welcome-to-the-festivals-forum.4106/ in this it clearly states that admins at anytime can run there own festival and that they are distinct from a PLAYER RAN festival. I do agree in a perfect world the best build wins however there is no such thing as a best build as building is subjective everyone likes different things yes some builds are sub par however lets take SV's tournament build for example its highly detailed and it looks good but in a tournament setting and ive heard this complaint from many others it may have been the best looking build in that voting cycle but it was cramped it was hard to see due to all the designs in the way of the arena and it was hard to find stalls for some people, taking stuff out of the hands of the players in one of the only things they can decide for the server directly would turn the community far more toxic and hateful towards the admins that decide tournaments because the build they liked personally didnt win.
