No Plans to Implement Appeals should be checked more often

I think appeals should be checked more often. From what I’ve seen they get seen every month or so in a wave. This makes it so many appeals pile up: for example, other day I saw an appeal that was up since January. I’d say that they should be checked every 2 weeks or so.

I understand that some situations, such as the unban of high profile players, may need further time to be discussed by staff. And that’s completely valid. I’m mostly speaking about the appeals of average players, who need to wait months before getting a reply from staff.

Yeah man but I feel like a system where you have to wait 3 months to get a reply is inefficient. Especially for appeals of lower importance.
I think with appeals only Cryptite and Magpie are able too deny or accept (I don't think any other elder can), leading it to take a very large amount of time to comb through everything.

I don't think either of them would be interested in a specific group of staff who are specifically just for appeals either sadly

but +1

It's certainly not optimal that appeals pile up at such high frequencies, but why should it be our priority to unban people who have gone out of their way to get permanently banned (sometimes repeatedly and after multiple warnings)? The argument in favor of more leniency tends to assume good faith in the people appealing, but the sad fact is that people often haven't changed.

Spending one night every month doing appeals is much less of a disruption to the staff workflow than doing them, say, once per week. Additionally, it's good to let appeals run their course by allowing the community time to respond.

What about false bans though? I agree with what you said, but I don’t quite find it fair, for example, for a player to be banned mid conquest month (in which perhaps he has an active role in leading an alliance) and be forced to wait 2 months for a reply due to a misjudgment. It’s true that it’s just Minecraft at the end of the day but like, it looks like a pretty big nuisance.

How many false bans have we had that you can name?

For what it's worth, we've had 252 appeals since January 1st, 2026. So, our ratio between # of bans and false bans is miniscule at best and not worth increasing the time we spend doing appeals (we're also still aware of when these things do come up!).

With the very few amount of false bans that are recieved, I think that the long wait times should be a by-product to getting banned / punished. It shouldnt be on the admins that you or your friend got banned and should immediately do their appeal

Mostly what others have already said in this thread, but even if we did look at appeals more frequently, that wouldn't get people unbanned any sooner.
