This change really is something that would make the server much different and change how conquest really would be managed. I like the idea but not for making Loka more than just Garama. I think the solution for Garama is to not have leaders who want to fight in the same place. Wolf Force and Regional Powers could run for the hills and get Ascalon and Kalros capitals all day, but frankly, this is a leader problem. For basically no reason they've chosen to do it this way, and are now stabbing each other to the death. Incentivizing people to move off Garama is difficult, and it really would require some other faction to rise up to make them go back to the other two. This does not go without saying that this feature is not useful in any way though. It could be necessary as fights get larger and larger, where Minecraft itself becomes the limit. At that point, this feature would become necessary. That is extremely long-term though, and frankly won't happen for years. This would be something that should be considered when conquest becomes a lag-fest even on the best hardware.

-1 This is an unnecessary solution, if your looking for content on other continents then you should send people to fight there instead of everyone being needed on one continent. Having a player cap would also just decrease the server population. A player cap does not fix "GaramaMC" what fixes it is where the attacking side CHOOSES to attack. Also as a scenario that the player cap was 50 vs 50, lets say first fight of the month you lock your 50 people to garama and have about 10 people left over. So you take them to ascalon because they cant fight on garama anyways right? Well you cant always count on those same 50 people being able to come back for the next fight because the amount of people you bring to a fight is a changing variable., therefore those 10 would just need to stick around on garama anyways. Essentially a player cap would not create a lot of new content on other continents. For that to happen you need a larger player base with different sides instead of always "WF vs RP".

A actual solution to thinning out a 50v50 would be to create a second objective for both sides. This would only be needed in large fights. This would cause people to split for each objective during the fight turning it more into a 25 v 25 x2.

I will say that this is the best solution for fights that get too big.

Hi, my name is Lurnn and I'm new to Lokamc and I have realized it's actually GaramaMC. This alliance Regional Flowers recruited lots of people because their old allies quit and had no support for reins (some warped against them, but who cares!) and were getting raped in fights against my current alliance Worst in the south. Because of this ArcherSquid our lord and savior had to make another big brain plan and move everyone from Kalros and Ascalon to save WITS from losing to Pingo and his goons. Now what I'm suggesting is that we add a cap for Loka fights, why? So people will move to the other continents and fight when in reality they'll probably just leave the server and go back to sitting with capital on dead continents.

+1 Great Suggestion Lurn!

truly few are able to achieve the level of mental gymnastics lurnn has. someone give him a :opyc:

i agree lurnn is a genius this is so inspiring +1

-1 lokamc should get upgraded instead so it can provide for its new and upcoming community. if they pay for advertising they should pay for server upgrade. if you get ocean update diego will pay more money for upgrade.

Loka just upgraded like a week ago, though.

your 50 people to garama and have about 10 people left over.
This is why I'm suggesting about this size of a player cap. Most large alliances are able to scrounge up 50 people for a fight, and with advertising somewhere in the works, recruiting is going to go through the roof. Southern Valyria as of now has 169 members, 102 actives. Just for the sake of example, say that number doubles after an advertisement wave or a sudden spike in players happens. you now have around 340 members, and 200 actives. There is no reason why you need THAT many people showing to fights regularly. This is about where I would start pushing for fight participant caps. As of now, we're just seeing the effects of over-recruitment in towns and I think both sides agree that it's not super sustainable with the server TPS and the realistic amount of grinding possible between fighting.
Essentially a player cap would not create a lot of new content on other continents.
Like I said before, as of now there isn't a reason to implement this. But as Loka gets more and more mainstream, the server is going to have to eventually expand to other continents in order to accommodate more players.
different sides instead of always "WF vs RP".
Everything Loka has produced so far has encouraged 2 sides and thrown a possible third side under the bus. Even if you developed content supporting a third side, humans will always gravitate towards one side more than the other making it essentially impossible to create more than two main sides.
