Implement in Future Improvements for Grinding

Instanced Shrines
This is a good idea and makes group nether grinding possible, but if it turns into more of a nerf like RI then that wack.
Instanced Nether Wart or faster re-spawn times
If they just make the current nether wart instanced then sure, but if it's again a nerf like Ri then no because you can get enough as is.
Instanced Glowstone and Quartz
Right now the glowstone caves are fine in my opinion, but more of them would be nice I guess. Having glowstone instanced wouldn't really work since it's in clumps and once you mined the outer part you wouldn't be able to mine the center. Quartz go for it.
Group Grinding in Nether and End
:)
Double Mob Drops in exchange for Conquest Points over 24 hours
No, because it's a Balak buff and on radars.

chiming in to suggest that glistering melons be added as a mob drop from zombie pigmen, with reason being that of all pot mats it is the only one for which you need biome control or connections to other towns/alliances on the server to buy them from; connections that new players might have troubles making in the first place.
this would both give every existing AND new town/player the option of freely grinding whatever pot mat they feel like grinding on top of giving the largely useless zombie pigmen a similar value to ghasts and blazes.
no clue how many glistering melons would be fair per zombie pigman, but perhaps around 1-2 on top of decreasing or completely removing gold nuggets dropped by them to make up for the gold in the glistering melons.

while i'm aware this is by far not an issue for most existing towns some of which have upwards of 10 million melon slices i feel it'd improve new towns' ease of entry into conquest.

RP has literally survived 2 years grinding on basic drops. Get good noobs.

i ALSO DISLIIKE GRINDING

I also want to acknowledge that I am new to this server. So yes, for most of the time that I have grinded for my town I have had balak buffs. With that being said once we didn't have them it really opened my eyes as to how difficult it is to maintain a town that has a large amount of members without them.

To be clear I DO want there to be grinding for pot mats and I think it makes this server fun and the system is unique. I just believe that the extent of the grinding needed to sustain a town is a little crazy. I also empathize with the other players in other alliances that weren't as fortunate to have these buffs while we have fought because it makes life exponentially harder and makes Loka less enjoyable.

This conversation is not intended to be an our alliance vs. your alliance type of thing. I want to see these issues solved because I believe it will benefit Loka as a whole and make all of us who play the server have more fun.

I agree. I believe that by far the worst period of time for any player on Loka is after they either get raided, run out of resources, or just joined the server and new to begin grinding. The slope that people have to go up is just insane for starting a new town and even for a town like my own, with many established players, still has to grind the hell out of some resources to sustain our builds and just general cost of keeping a town alive - and we don't even do conquest at the moment. I think a lot of this just comes down to allowing for newer players to have a good amount of resources, but not too many to the point where everyone has similar amounts. The gap of wealth on the server isn't necessarily a bad thing, however it should probably be reduced just a little bit to make the server more friendly for the newer guys.

Also, kiad does bring up a good point about the glistening melons. I think it's pretty detrimental that only a few different towns/alliances have mass amounts of them and the rest of the alliances are sort of left for dead when it comes to them. Obviously overtime established players have gotten plenty of them, however I think that making a mob drop them in the nether might be a good idea to reduce the barrier to entry for Conquest and PvP as a whole.

The amount of grinding that needs to occur to establish a new town is unrealistic for most players unless they have the support of an alliance.
This is false. As you know Melon Borker and I made the town on our own, and got resources on our own to establish our town.

When Loka is trying to encourage more world PvP I kinda worry that instancing is slowly removing a lot of competition and turning grinding into more and more of a time sink with a lot less strategy and you're not ever as worried about being snuck up on as before the instancing.
I feel there should be a balance between stuff that's instanced and stuff that everyone can fight over. Just so you can always go into the nether expecting to bring something back but at the same time, it encourages players to get in quick and grab things before an alliance just sweeps all the shrines etc.

I agree, I feel that there should still be a danger in finding someone else who's already at the shrines or a quartz vein or something and risking your life to get some resources. I feel that keeping the balance is extremely important in this especially considering many of these suggested changes will help newer players more than anything, however still keep grinding a risk for the older ones.

Moist you guys didn't have enough materials to let your members have a stack of pearls when they left your town. I know you guys struggled getting mats, we all have at one point or another. You are 100% right that it is possible to make a town on your own. However you are experienced players that know the strats needed to farm mats to supply a town, not new players who are trying to get familiar with the server. Just because starting a town is possible with this current system doesn't mean that it cannot be improved.
