Let's say you just raided a town 20k blocks from spawn. It takes ~90 seconds to run 500 blocks. After a 90 second run from the towns boarder that you just raided, you can /sethome and then /spawn. At that point you have all the items you got from the raid safely in your inventory/enderchest at spawn. You can then stroll to your main base at your leisure or wait for a /tpa from a friend. That is a large advantage that wanderers/nomads would have over players who decide to join/make a town. Especially, if the target town is thousands of blocks from spawn. Once you set your /home 500 blocks from the targeted town, you only have a ~90 second travel time back and forth between that town and spawn.... no matter if that town is 1k from spawn or 40k from spawn. There are limitations though and other things that don't really make this too big of a deal:
Yes, it's possible, but I don't see these changes suddenly changing the raiding process or aiding it too much.
- You can always ender chest your loot.
- You cannot /sethome within 500 blocks of a town.
- IF you're 500 blocks away from a town after a raid anyway, the chances that you'll be found and killed as vengeance from the town is unlikely.
