PvP Updates Thread

  • Lifesteal now has a Redstone Dust particle effect associated with it whilst active.
  • Slow now has a Witch Magic particle effect associated with it whilst active.
  • Groove hits now display a Magic Crit particle effect on the victim.
  • Iron Form now has an iron block breaking particle effect associated with it upon activate and each time a player with it active is hit.
 
  • VotA Matchmaking has been updated again and now should reflect latest trends in your playing. This ensures that new players who get better over time will reflect as such and not be mired by their first few games with very low scores.
  • Leaving or Disconnecting from an active VotA will now again result in a Deserter flag which will prevent you from queueing for another battleground for 15 minutes.
  • Later-join players should now be able to join VotA prior to the doors opening. Previously, late joins could only join after the doors open and VotA had actually started.

Does this take effect upon leaving or upon the end of the game?
 
Can I make a call to tweak the website PvP leaderboards? Because they're still showing people's stats from LAST season as well as this one.
 
  • Life Shield now lasts 6 seconds down from 8 seconds.
  • Life Shield's cooldown has been increased to 45 seconds up from 35 seconds
  • Freyjia's Arrow now grants Regeneration I instead of Regeneration II
 
Ancient Gulch
  • Killing the Unbound Trio will now grant 8 seconds of Regeneration III to the killing team to help recover from the fight.
  • So long as one of your team's towers is up, you will be healed whilst in your team's base area.
  • Tower's no longer explode when Power Sources are destroyed
  • Towers now explode only when they're destroyed properly.
  • Towers now explode excitingly.
 
Ancient Gulch
  • Tower protectors are now speedier when protecting nearby friendlies.
  • Killing the Unbound Trio no longer grants the team 3 minutes of Strength 1, but instead... well, you'll see.
These changes are coming tonight and are not currently live.

  • Each team now has Gates guarded by Protectors. Killing the gate's protectors gives you a TNT block that you can place on the gate to destroy it. These objectives are after the towers and before the core.
  • Bits of tuning on respawn times, etc.

  • Exploding towers no longer drop blocks

  • Tower Power Sources (Redstone Lamps) now properly turn off when they're overloaded.
 
Talents
  • NEW: Quick-Casting! By enabling this with /talents (currently only in the PvP server), you can activate talents as soon as you switch to them in your hotbar. For example, if your first slot is your sword, with quick-cast enabled, if you hit 5 to select a talent, it will activate and then immediately return to your last slot (sword). With proper keybinds, you can activate talents without having to switch back to weapons, etc.
Ancient Gulch
  • NEW: Grass! Grass patches have been installed around the map. You are invisible to other enemy players whilst in the grass patches, but can be seen if an enemy enters the grass patch with you. Hiding in grass will in the future obscure things like heart-particles while bandaging and possibly also increase the effectiveness of some talents like Bandage. There's never been a better time to setup ganks! :)
 
I meant to ask while we were testing this. Does switching to your sword automatically activate reflexes? (When using auto cast) Same for switching to the bow with ExArrow, Hook, or Freyjia's arrow?

It does not, nope, only talents associated with special items. You'll still have to whap with your sword/bow out to activate those talents or switch to their items, which would also work.
 
  • All arenas now have Inventory Preference Signs behind you when you spawn into an arena. You can arrange your inventory and use the sign to save them by right-clicking
  • Inventory Preferences are now saved by type (BG, Arena, Pot-Arena)
  • Inventory preferences no longer auto-save when a match/bg/game starts (this was probably stupid to do anyway)
