Suggestion remove the obstacles in the middle of the duels maps

honestly the existing work they did on most maps is already good enough in my opinion. (and the outright removal of the tree map which got me laughed out the room in one of the SOTS but look where we are now...) https://forums.lokamc.com/threads/just-remove-the-log-map.5523/#post-52718

Anyways back on point, this isn't 1.7 HCF where all the pot maps are flat because that's pretty much how HCF and "Road PvP" is, I think in the same way their duel maps represent their communities gamemodes ours should too, with SOME NATURAL TERRAIN HERE AND THERE. After all conquest isn't all flattened out is it.
I think 1.7 Pot practice isn't related to HCF at all at least since 2017. Watch videos from 2015~2018 and all maps had terrains. The reason why practice servers switched their maps to flat is people wanted to practice aim/potting instead of how to deal with terrains as the game got sweatier. So if we consider Potion duels and Conquest 2 different things I think flat maps make sense.

2015-2018 (the last years of true hcf) glad you pointed this out as it sorta supports the idea, 2018 is when the new all flat rushed p2w and just the hcf you know today that is the furthest thing from vanilla was released, before that similar to actual hcf there was terrain in duels as you pointed out!

Loka has not fallen to such poor standards as hcf has over the years however! Let's maintain that

They are different things but the lack of realism in whats being suggested via a fully flat perfect scenario duel map makes no sense, it's pretty much never going to happen, and even when it does there's some bumps here and there (like the elevation differences on some current maps) I don't see why people would want all flat these are practice duels and I don't see what a lack of blocks is preparing you for

learning maps, avoiding and using obstacles, and map awareness are apart of many games. If you don’t know where the obstacles are after having over 100+ duels then it’s nobody’s fault that you can’t multitask. I don’t think Loka should remove obstacles just because some people can’t get out of a corner or remember that it’s there while pvping. the exaggeration of how hard obstacles make everything is beyond. if it’s that hard for you then maybe loka isn’t the place… but the server doesn’t need to tailor duel maps to make the concept of mcpvp even easier

I think the best option would be a compromise. I think it would be best if the middle of the arena was flat with little to no obstacles (maybe just same grass/flowers for detail) and then to have some terrain and other detailed structures around the arena. This would make it so there would be a good flat pvp area that isn't hindered by terrain.

I'd think just more maps would be better. More flat maps, more obstacle maps. A perfect balance.

So what I'm hearing from this thread, is to build an arena made entirely of barrier blocks, with extra obstacles, extra low-hanging roof sections, and barrier block parkour
