also cheers to myself for staying on top of today's post...

June 20th, Day 400: Ginkgo

Fruit Info:
Today's fruit is the Ginkgo, which is produced off of the Ginkgo tree, which evolved in China about 190 million years ago, with it's Order (Ginkgoales) appearing about 290 million years ago. You could say it's the father of all fruits because of how long ago it evolved (although it is not the common ancestor of all fruits).

It is high in vitamins B6 and C, with several others in good supply too. Most importantly though it is used in milkshakes, smoothies, and ice cream. This makes it once of our best fruits yet.

June 28th, Day 408: Natal White Stinkwood

Fruit Info: Today’s fruit is kind of neat, and certainly not as disgusting as whatever Foxy posted yesterday. Celtis mildbraedii, is a type of tree native to tropical Africa and parts of Southern Africa. While the tree may grow fruit regularly, it is surprisingly rare to find a viable seed. This makes the plant very hard to find much outside of its natural habitat.

June 29th, Day 409: Buddha's Hand

Fruit Info: Today’s fruit is quite odd compared to almost any other fruit out there. It's the Buddha's Hand and is a weird french fry lemon colored "thing." It's a citrus and is eaten by breaking the fingers off, then peeling them. It was initially brought to China by Buddhist monks and is a symbol of happiness and prosperity for folks of the East.
