July 1st, Day 411: Ugli Fruit

Fruit Info:
Today's fruit is the ugli fruit, which doesn't actually live up to its name "ugli" too much, however is a bit of a weird fruit. It looks like a cross between an orange and a pear, however is actually a cross between an orange and a grapefruit from Jamaica.

Fruit Tier: U for Ugly

July 2nd, Day 412: Poison Peach

Fruit Info: First blooming between October and April, Trema tomentosa goes on to produce small black fruits that don’t look anything like peaches. While presumably poisonous Wikipedia didn’t really mention anything on that, but it’s still best to just assume their nickname is there for a reason. They are native to Western Australia though so that’s neat.

July 3rd, Day 413: Colosynth

Fruit Info: Born from a desert vine, today’s fruit is a close relative of the watermelon. Citrullus colocynthis has a long history of usefulness with for people. It’s seeds have been found as far back as the Neolithic level in caves, suggesting that they were useful even before cultivation. Some of these uses are traditional medicines, soap production from the seeds oils, and of course food.

July 7th, Day 417: Karuka

Fruit Info: Pandanus julianetti, otherwise known as the Karuka or Karuka nut is the ugliest thing you’ll see today. Maybe there’s more that can be said about this fruit but it’s too ugly to give it the time of day.
