On what i have read, I think it was Zor who said there was a pretty big gap between a Sentry and Guardian. I do feel this is true. Maybe there can be a middle rank that can bridge the gap between them? So new sentries that will go to that rank know how it will be and how to act before they become Guardian? I dont know, just throwing out ideas.

nope nope nope nope

The last thing we need is more middle ranks.

Yes i think we have enough ranks as it is. There is always going to be a large gap because when you give someone powers to tp they must become neutral and change their style of play. What powers could you take away from guardian to bridge the gap anyway?

You could make a rank between sentries and guardians with a consensual tp.

What would that achieve? It would just be used as an easy way to get around as anyone that you would need to check up on would say no.

I do think everyone should gain access to /tpaccept so Guardians+ can use /tpa. It's just a nicer way to teleport to someone when it isn't urgent.

Yeah I doubt many guardians will do that anyways.

And most players would use /tpdeny instead. But it's the thought that counts.

Usually when guardians teleport to me they're trying to be secretive anyways.

Pffft... I don't know what you're talking about.

Anyways, I try to be considerate when tping to another player and a lot of people are scared to death when an admin appears out of nowhere; hence my request.

Reading this thread's making me think.

Adminship, as a whole, is like a police force, where the Sentries are the Cadets. We apply because we want to do good, and the vast majority do just that. As stated before, however, the wrong decisions or the mistakes we make tend to overshadow the good deeds we do in the public eye, which further tarnishes the view that the public has towards us Sentries and above. But then again, the Sentry rank is a position of learning in general, either through being mentored and taught personally by a higher rank, or even by making mistakes and learning from those. And for those who wish to actually abuse their powers, I would imagine they'd be sorted out from the rest much more easily.

I applied for the position of Sentry to better help the server. Within the short amount of time that I have been a Sentry, I admit, I've been pretty gung-ho about it. But not because I have these powers at my disposal, but because I have the power with which I may help to better the server. In all honesty, I wish to become a Guardian in the future as well, but until that day comes, I want to learn as much as I can from all other Guardians+ so that I may responsibly use my newfound abilities and come to make the right decisions.

I'm rather surprised this thread's making as many waves as it is, but I do agree, it's a genuine concern that should be taken to heart.
